With video games and their online play/social networking growing at an incredible rate comparable to the popularity of smart phones and iphone gaming, we're going to look at a set of headphones that designed simply for listening and style.

The Moguls, from the EarPollution line of iFrogz is the company's most elite set of headphones, but is it worth its price? Read our review to find out.

The Moguls are a DJ style stereo headphone. Like the SteelSeries line of headsets we've reviewed on Game Rant, the Moguls sport 50mm driver units for crystal clear sound. We've tested it with video watching, video gaming and music (on PC and mobile devices) and users will be hard-pressed to find better sound.

As headphones designed simply for listening and looking cool while doing it, the cord on the Moguls is rather short at 1.5 meters but with its primary use for PC/Mac listening and mobile use on iPhones and other mobile devices, the short cord length isn't a deal breaker.

Comfort and style are two key features with the Mogul design. The thick, padded cushions on the earcups sit well on the ear, but the same cannot be said about the padded band which rests upon the head. For a padded band, the top of the Mogul is rather stiff and hard and will take some getting used to.

What must be said about the Mogul headphones however, is that they look sexy. The headphones come in three different color schemes and the white set is perfect for fans of Apple products, the other two colors being a red/baby blue mix and a black/chrome one. All three designs look just plain cool and we can safely say that any buyer will be proud to show these off as their headphones on the go. Click to Enlarge:

While the headphones support the standard/default 3.5mm jack, the package also comes with a 1/4" cable for use with audio equipment.

The Specs

  • Driver Unit: 50 mm
  • Impedance: 32 ohms
  • Sensitivity: 116 dB
  • Frequency Response: 10-30,000 Hz
  • Cord Length: 1.5 m
  • Plug: 3.5 mm

The sides of the Mogul headphones can be adjusted for different head sizes and the hinges above the earcups allow for forward rotation of the earcups up to 90 degrees. We wish they support a full 180 degrees rotation so we could turn the earcups both ways.

There are no volume controls on the cord or headphones so sound settings will need to be adjusted on the device it is plugged into. By design, the Mogul headphones are simple to use - plug in and listen to high quality sound.

The EarPollution Moguls may not feature a lot of tech under the hood and its cord length and flexibility may be limiting, but the unit's super attractive design and high quality audio make it a worthwhile product.

The Moguls run retail for $69.99 and more information/buying options can be found at ifrogz.
