For many gamers, including some of us here at Game Rant, Ico and Shadow of The Colossus are in a class of their own when it comes to artistic games. Unfortunately, for those of us who parted ways with our PlayStation 2 consoles long ago, those experiences have been resigned to our past. But this may change soon as another hint has dropped that perhaps the games will be released together on the PlayStation 3 in 2011.On Walmart's website, a combo pack containing both of Team Ico's epics is set to be released in April 2011 for only $39. This should come as no surprise to regulars of the site, since details have been leading us to this conclusion for months now.

A bundle of two of the most prolific games on the PS2 being upconverted for play on the PlayStation 3 could be a popular decision, and may also be part of Sony and Team Ico's larger plans for Fumito Ueda's upcoming spiritual successor to the series, The Last Guardian.

After being announced at E3 2009, there has been little to no buzz surrounding the title, and after pulling a no-show at E3 2010, the assumption was (and recently confirmed) that The Last Guardian would be given its time in the spotlight at the Tokyo Game Show. We've already seen from the God of War Collection that re-releasing a game's predecessors is a great way to increase anticipation for the next installment, and that may prove to be true in this case.

Hopefully, the date given by Walmart isn't of particular importance, since it would be one of the cruelest April Fool's jokes that gamers have ever had to experience. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting any and all new Guardian details coming out of TGS. Perhaps we can add the Team Ico Bundle to the list of anticipated announcements.

My PS3 is quivering with excitement, but how about yours? At least now we may have a back-up plan for a high-definition Team Ico experience should The Last Guardian fall short.
