Nintendo just released a new Nintendo Direct. The first major presentation since E3 back in June, fans received updates on many of the company’s upcoming projects. While new details were given on in-development titles such as Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Splatoon 3, a look at new content coming to already available games was shown as well. One of these titles receiving new DLC was Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack-and-slash game set in The Legend of Zelda universe. A sequel to the popular Hyrule Warriors, it looked to deliver even more Zelda goodness to the series. With a story focusing predominantly on the events leading up to Breath of the Wild, the game centers on the warriors of Hyrule as they fight against Calamity Ganon and his evil forces. The game introduced several new fighters and weapons to the series as well. With this new wave of DLC, the developers look to continue giving players new ways to play the game.

Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance is the second part of an Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. As part of the DLC, new story content including the Battle for Kakariko Village, Battle of Goponga Village, and more were announced to be coming to the game. Through these battles and new story sequences, fans are expected to learn more details about the Champions and Guardians. Along with these new stories come new story stages including Coliseum and Lanayru Road. In addition, the technological pair of Purah and Robbie were shown as a new playable duo character in the Nintendo Direct trailer. A second fighter was teased as well.

In addition to this new wave of DLC coming October 29, players that purchase the Expansion Pass receive access to the first wave of DLC. Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients added new weapon types and enemies. These weapons included the Flail for Link and the Master Cycle for Zelda. The DLC also introduced a new fighter to the roster: Battle-Tested Guardian.

It’s an exciting time to be a Zelda fan. Beyond the update for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, the Nintendo Direct revealed that Nintendo Switch Online is adding Ocarina of Time to its collection of playable games. Furthermore, Breath of the Wild 2 is currently in development with a release expected next year. With these other Zelda projects currently in the works, it will be interesting to see if Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance is the end of new DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, or if the developers continue to support the game moving forward.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available now for Nintendo Switch. The Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance DLC will be released October 29.
