When players start out in Hunter's Arena: Legends, they already have access to most of the characters in the game. That said, there are five of the seventeen characters that must be unlocked before they can be played. At the time of writing, two of these characters can be played for free as they are on rotation, but this will likely change soon. Players wanting to unlock any of these characters forever will need to spend some in game currency on them, but at no point does the game explain where or how to do this.

Hunter's Arena: Legends just released on PS4 and PS5, and even PC players are only just now diving into the full release of the game. While players are quickly figuring out its nuances and ways to survive in the battle royale, there are some basics that many players miss completely. Unlocking new characters is one such thing.

Hunter's Arena: Legends - Where to Buy New Characters

Hunter's Arena Legends Main Menu Screen

By instinct, players probably went to the shop first when attempting to unlock new characters, but this only contains microtransactions that allow players to purchase skins or use real money to buy Soul Points (the game's currency). Instead, players will need to head to the collection page where they can find all of the characters in the game. Here players can find a skill guide for each of the characters and customize their appearance with skins, new weapons, emotes, and victory poses. Scroll down to the very bottom and players should notice five characters with lock symbols on their portraits (two of them will be on rotation at any given time and therefore unlocked temporarily).

Hunter's Arena: Legends - How Much is Each Character?

Simply select one of these characters and it will bring up their skin menu (or press square to purchase them from the collection page). Underneath that, the character's name is listed alongside the amount of Soul Points needed to unlock them. Each character costs 25,500 Soul Points to unlock; below is a list of purchasable characters:

  • Momo - Long Range
  • Dalgi - Mid Range
  • Wu Kong - Melee
  • Sandy - Mid Range
  • Pigsy - Melee

Getting 25,500 Soul Points simply from playing the game will take quite a long time and even more patience and dedication. This will obviously go by faster if the player is consistently able to rank well in their matches, but it will still be a grind. The alternative to this is spending $9.99 USD on 32,100 SP, which will be enough to buy one character with some left over. The base rate seems to be around $5 for every 15,000 SP, but players get extra if they purchase more at once.

Hunter's Arena Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
