A new map is headed to Hunt: Showdown. Crytek has long been teasing the newest Hunt: Showdown location. It has been years since the last new map in the PVP and PVE horror shooter based in the Lousiana bayou, and now fans finally have received gameplay of the next location: DeSalle.

Crytek's unique first-person shooter has seen continual support since launch, and just recently Hunt: Showdown celebrated its third-year anniversary. As exciting as many of the updates in the past have been, recently Crytek has seemingly upped its game with new bosses, gameplay overhauls, and more. The newest map is the most recent example.

Crytek just dropped a gameplay trailer of the new map and it brings about some diverse new areas to the shooter. The first area that people will notice is an area where a ship is being built, which appears to create tense close-up battles for Hunt: Showdown. The building itself can also be held down from enemies approaching from afar, which is a staple for the layout of many building structures in Hunt: Showdown.

The trailer moves on to other locations such as a lumber yard, a coal mine, an estate, and much more. All of these locations are shown off during glorious gameplay with both human and monster battles of Hunt: Showdown as well, and fans are already gleaning through each moment to find easter eggs and details of the footage. Crytek has also informed fans that the map is coming to Test Servers soon.

Along with the trailer, fans of the game who have been paying attention to the Hunt: Showdown social media pages have been able to receive bits of information on the map over time. Each map has named compounds spread throughout, and Crytek has been sharing them over the past few weeks. Kingsnake Mine, Ash Creek Lumber, Stanley Coal Company, Graf. Co. Lumber, Seven Sisters Estate, and Pearl Plantation are all names that Crytek has shared--and all likely locations that players will duke it out in and even fight bosses in together (such as the new Scrapbeak boss in Hunt).

Over the past few months, Hunt: Showdown has seen limited-time community events with plenty of unlockables, a brand new boss for the first time in years, overhauls that totally shift the gameplay, and more. Many of these changes are things that the community has asked for, the development team has worked hard on, or updates that have been on the Hunt: Showdown roadmap for years. New maps for the community to take part one is just one aspect, albeit something that the community very much appreciates.

Hunt: Showdown is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
