May is finally here, and that means it is time for a fresh batch of games from Humble Bundle's subscription service Humble Choice. For $11.99, subscribers can claim eight vastly different titles for their Steam libraries until the end of the month. There is a ton of content on offer this month, and five percent of each subscription goes to No Kid Hungry, which fights to end childhood hunger across the United States.
Humble Choice is offering a wide variety of experiences for players to check out this month. Strategy fans can take Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters for a spin; players that want a good fright can check out Bendy and the Dark Revival; anyone looking for some fast-paced sports mayhem can try their hand at Windjammers 2; and players who just want to relax can give Builder Simulator or Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition a shot. There seems to be something for everyone in this month's bundle, and subscribers do not want to miss out on it.
Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery
Every Humble Choice bundle seems to include unique indie adventure titles, and May 2023's bundle is no different. Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery puts players in control of a passionate artist seeking the missing colors of their painting. They will go on a journey through a colorful world created with hand-animated visuals, and hopefully paint a masterpiece along the way. It is a nice break from the frantic nature of many AAA titles and may just be worth a playthrough or two.
Bendy and the Dark Revival
Bendy and the Dark Revival whisks players off to a creepy world filled with danger lurking around every corner. They must traverse a creepy animation studio that has gone completely mad and will have to use every tool at their disposal to survive its halls. They must overcome puzzles, avoid an Ink Demon, and fight back against ink-tainted enemies. Anyone who wants try out the first game before comitting to its sequel can grab it on Steam for 50 percent off until May 15.
Builder Simulator
Sometimes players just want to sit back, relax, and build some things. Builder Simulator gives them that exact experience by putting them in the shoes of a house builder with base-building mechanics. They are given a plot of land to plan out and build the perfect residence for their clients. Not only do players have control over the exterior, but they can also customize every single room to truly build the best house around. If they love what they built, they can send their creations off to the Steam Workshop so that everyone can experience what they have accomplished.
Operation: Tango
Espionage co-op games are pretty popular right now, and Humble Choice is taking advantage of that with Operation: Tango. One player will assume the role of the agent while the other will become the hacker, and they must work together to dismantle a high-tech global menace. They must solve puzzles together, engage in espionage across the world, and utilize an assortment of gadgets to get the job done. Anyone who wants to check this game out needs to ensure they have someone to play it with, but the free Friend Pass should be enough to entice someone.
Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition
Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition gives players control of the Spiritfarer, and tasks them with ferrying the deceased. As they explore, they will gather resources to expand their ferry and bond with spirits that they picked up. However, no one stays on the boat forever, so players will have to get used to saying goodbye. While it is primarily a cozy singleplayer organization game, it also offers co-op for anyone that wants to experience this relaxing game with a friend. This version includes the base game and every content update, giving players hours of content to enjoy.
The Invisible Hand
The Invisible Hand puts players in the shoes of a mid-level stockbroker in a cutthroat world. The only goal is to make profit for the company, even if players must step on a few toes along the way. They will buy and sell stocks, manipulate the market, break as many laws as they can, and hopefully come out on top in the end. If players are careful, then they could become one of the richest people around. Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters
The big headlining title in this month's Humble Choice comes in the form of Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters. Players control Warhammer 40K's Grey Knights and has them do battle against the forces of Chaos. It has all the hallmarks of the turn-based tactical RPG genre with a Warhammer 40K skin attached and promises some brutal action throughout. Anyone looking for a high-stakes bloody affair will want to keep their eye on this one, especially if they have been craving some XCOM-like action.
Windjammers 2
The final game in May's Humble Choice bundle is the colorful indie sports sequel Windjammers 2. This game pits people against each other in an exhilarating combination of Tennis and Frisbee. Players will compete against a slew of unique characters as they attempt to become the Windjammer champion. They can also play against other players through local or online multiplayer across many unique modes. It seems like a great title for game night, and its fast-paced gameplay with hand-drawn 2D animations should keep players coming back for more.
There are a lot of unique games to try through Humble Choice this month, and the fun does not end there. Subscribers also gain access to the Humble Games Collection which offers a vast library of exciting indie titles at no extra charge. The monthly bundles also seem to be getting stronger, and anyone who wants this particular one has until June 5 to claim it before a whole new batch of games replaces it.
