As COVID-19 ravaged the globe over the last year, companies from all industries found ways to help the medical community in its fight against the virus whether it was through educating the public or charitable efforts. Humble Bundle was one of these companies, setting its recent charitable efforts on supporting multiple medical organizations fighting to halt the spread of COVID-19. Humble Bundle's efforts have proven extremely fruitful as the company revealed it raised over $1 million in funds for four different medical charities around the world.

Humble Bundle shared the news in a blog post on the company's website about the success of its Humble Heal: COVID-19 Bundle, which was available from May 12 to May 19. The pack included hit indie-RPG Undertale, hit shooter Superhot, turn-based strategy game Wargroove, and a few other games along with ebooks and software. In the seven days the bundle was live, Humble Bundle said it sold over 54,374 copies for a total of $1,170,824 going to four medical charities. These organizations are giveIndia, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres, Direct Relief, and the International Medical Corps.

The four organizations were grateful and thankful for the generous donation by Humble Bundle to assist their ongoing battles against COVID-19. They also thanked the thousands of people who bought the Humble Heal: COVID-19 Bundle and whose money will go to the right causes, from providing medicine to ensuring families are fed. In terms of where, the organizations clarified the funds will go to helping their teams hard at work in Brazil and India.

India and Brazil are two of the countries hit hardest by the global pandemic, each housing the second and third highest number of infections behind the United States since it began. Each country has also seen record high death counts as over 323,000 people died from COVID in India and over 459,000 died in Brazil. Both countries continue to be ravaged by the virus and has led to economic, social, and political instability in both nations.

Despite the dire situations in both countries, the result of Humble Bundle's latest charitable effort shows there are plenty of people out there willing to help however they can. The last year saw a seismic shift in the world as people had to adopt to a new norm, including working from home or keeping away from friends and family to protect their health. It also gave a new appreciation for the people who willingly put themselves in harm's way to treat anyone infected with the virus and try to stop its spread, one patient at a time. While not always successful, their efforts, it appears, did not go unnoticed and will hopefully continue to inspire others to contribute to efforts like the one put forth by Humble Bundle and other companies like Microsoft.
