Nintendo has pioneered the game announcement showcase video with its series of Nintendo Directs, which have replaced live showings at events like E3 for years and appear sporadically for niche topics like the recent Indie World Showcase Direct. The online retailer Humble Bundle announced Friday that it will be putting out its own series of showcases called The Humble Brag starting on Tuesday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m. PST.

Humble Bundle is one-part digital storefront like Valve's platform Steam, and one-part publisher for independent games like Blue Manchu's Void Bastards, recently leaked to be releasing for the Nintendo Switch by the ESRB. It also sells software, ebooks, comics, and more, with purchases on the site supporting charities like Child's Play, the American Red Cross, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Humble Brag was announced via Twitter, with Humble Bundle saying it will be revealing "new amazing indies" and linking to the YouTube livestream page where the presentation will premiere. Like with Nintendo's recent Direct there's no indication given as to exactly what will be showcased in the first Humble Brag, so interested parties will just have to wait and see what games are unveiled next week.

The digital storefront has used its voice as a popular publisher to help a number of great causes in the past. One of its biggest recent deals was an Australian Fire Relief Bundle that included 29 games and donated all proceeds to helping put out the Australian bushfires in late 2019 and early 2020. That ecological disaster lasted more than 240 days but is finally over according to news organizations like CNN.

While Humble Bundle has always been a digitally-focused service, it's likely other companies will be adopting Nintendo Direct-styled presentations such as The Humble Brag going forward given events like the Game Developers Conference have been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns. Ubisoft has already announced a digital presentation will replace what it planned to show at E3 2020, as has indie publisher Devolver Digital.

Though it's currently unknown what Humble Bundle's first Humble Brag will showcase, the organization will still be supporting the charity Child's Play through its Humble Choice subscription service through the end of March. Some of the games available for it include Frontier Developments' theme park simulator Planet Coaster and DeadToast Entertainment's shoot 'em up My Friend Pedro.

The Humble Brag will be hosted on YouTube Tuesday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m. PST.
