Disney obtained the rights to the X-Men when it absorbed 21st Century Fox's properties last year. But the company hasn't given any indication of what it plans to do with the characters.

The obvious assumption leads one to believe that Disney and Marvel will incorporate the group into the MCU, but exactly how remains unseen.

However, Mark Ruffalo has an idea for the introduction of at least one of the X-Men's members that many comic fans can get behind. While discussing his role as the Hulk in an interview with Variety, Ruffalo mentioned how cool he thought it would be to have a movie centered around the Hulk and Wolverine.

Wolverine's very first appearance happened in a Hulk comic — specifically The Incredible Hulk #181. So if Disney wanted to introduce the character into the MCU through a Hulk movie instead of an X-Men one, it would work pretty much perfectly.

Disney and Marvel are also known for introducing new heroes through the films of more established characters anyway, like, Black Panther through Captain America: Civil War and Black Widow through Iron Man 2. So it would be fairly routine for them to do the same with Wolverine through the Hulk.

The only challenge would be making a standalone Hulk film since Universal currently owns the rights. Usually, in this situation, one would joke that Disney could just buy Universal, but the company presently looks tight on money due to the coronavirus situation.
