HQ Trivia is the latest mobile game obsession and, yes, it's even distracting gamers from Pokemon GO. Every day hundreds of thousands (and sometimes over a million) players gather around their mobile devices and attempt to answer 12 trivia questions correctly. Get all 12 correct and you get to split the prize pool (usually $2,000) with all the other winners. The late game questions are brutally tough and players need all the help they can get, that's where this hack comes into play.

HQ experts know that there is a mechanic called extra lives. An extra life allows players to continue in the game after getting a question wrong. Extra lives can only be used once per game and cannot be used on question 12. These lives are usually awarded by referring friends to the game or through special giveaways, but there is a hack to get them for free in just a matter of seconds.

Here's how to claim an extra life for your next game:

1.) Use an iOS phone. We've tested this hack on both Android and iOS and it seems to only work for Apple users.

2.) On the main screen, before a game starts, place two fingers near the bottom half of the screen, just above the buttons.

3.) Swipe up towards the top of the screen and repeat this motion quickly (we know it sounds fake, but honestly it really works).

4.) Continue swiping until an extra life appears.

That's all there is to it!

The trick seems to only work once per day, so don't expect to load up on tons of lives at all one time.

HQ is likely aware of the hack at this point, so make sure you get a chance to try it before it disappears. There's no saying how much longer it will be around or whether or not it's an intentional Easter egg. We're keeping an eye out for an update from the game's creators, so check back for updates or new intel.

Good luck on your next game, HQuties!

HQ is currently available on Android and iOS devices.
