Pokemon GO's Throwback Challenge 2020 is underway, and it is comprised of four weeks of Timed Research for fans to complete. These PoGO Throwback Challenge tasks have fans doing things like playing with their Buddy Pokemon, catching specific types of Pokemon, and even taking Snapshots of Pokemon, and indeed some fans may need a refresher on exactly how to go about photographing their pocket monsters. Fortunately, players will find it very easy to take snapshots in Pokemon GO with just a bit of instruction.

The first step to taking snapshots in Pokemon GO is to select the Pokemon that a player wishes to photograph. This is done simply by tapping on the Poke Ball at the bottom of the screen, then tapping on the Pikachu silhouette under the word "Pokemon," and then tapping on the Pokemon of interest. This will bring up the Pokemon's profile page, and fans will see a camera icon near the top-right corner.

Now players that want to take snapshots in PoGO should tap on that camera icon, and doing so will activate their device's camera. Pokemon GO fans should then look for yellow footsteps to appear, and they can tap on them to place the selected Pokemon in the environment. Then all that is left to do to take snapshots is to tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen, and players should feel free to do this multiple times to get many photographs of their Pokemon.

To note, it is possible to get Pokemon to strike a pose for a Pokemon GO snapshot, and that is done simply by tapping on them. Additionally, players can use the Poke Ball icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen to recall the Pokemon if they wish to put it in a new position for the photograph.

At the time of writing, the PoGO Johto Throwback Challenge is underway, and indeed fans will need to get a snapshot of a Pokemon if they hope to complete all of its tasks. Certainly this is something that many players will be interested in doing, as finishing all of the Johto Throwback Timed Research will reward fans with a Ho-Oh with Earthquake and put them in a position to unlock a Special Research at the end of Pokemon GO's Throwback Challenge 2020.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
