Sifu comes from indie developer Sloclap, who also worked on Absolver, and is an action-adventure martial arts beat-em-up that has some roguelike elements to it. Sifu officially launches for PS4/PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store on February 8, but there is a way for gamers to play Sifu early if they opt-in for the game's special edition.

Sifu's Standard Edition costs $39.99 and just comes with a digital version of the game, but for those that want more goodies, they can pre-order the Deluxe Edition of Sifu. The Deluxe version costs $49.99 and includes a digital version of Sifu's original soundtrack, a digital artbook, the "Cinematic Pack" for Photo Mode, two avatars (Epic Games Store), and 48 hours early access to the game. There's currently a 10% discount for Sifu for PS Plus subscribers and everyone on the Epic Games Store.

How to Play Sifu Early

Currently, the only way to play Sifu early on PS4/PS5 and PC is to pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the game. It does cost a few extra bucks, but it might be worth it for players that have been really looking forward to the challenging yet satisfying combat that Sifu offers. Unfortunately, some Sifu players that pre-ordered on the PSN Store could not download the early access version of the game. But Sloclap put out a tweet on Sunday stating that PlayStation has fixed the issue for most players. Sloclap also promises an "exclusive gift" coming to those with the Deluxe Edition of Sifu.

How to Fix Sifu Early Access Issue

If players have purchased the Deluxe Edition for Sifu and still cannot access it, there are some troubleshooting tips that might help out:

  • Restart the console and then launch Sifu from the library
  • Go to settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses

For those still experiencing issues, the best thing to do now is to just wait until the game's official launch on February 8th, 2022. It's likely that all versions of Sifu will launch properly across PlayStation Network and the Epic Games Store, whether gamers have the Deluxe Edition or not.

Sifu will take most gamers around 10 hours to see the game from start to finish, but depending on the skill level of the player, that time can increase or decrease. Sifu is not an easy game, so players should be prepared to face some challengers once they get access.

Sifu officially launches on February 8 for PC, PS4, and PS5.
