On the eve of Call of Duty Mobile's launch, some exciting news has been confirmed concerning how the game is played. While this free-to-play version is formatted for iOS and Android devices, players don't actually have to stick to them; there's a workaround to play on the computer just like a full Call of Duty title.

Set to launch worldwide on October 1 (although it has actually launched early for iOS), Call of Duty Mobile was already confirmed to have controller support, and now players can also set their game up to work with a mouse and keyboard.

To set up a computer with the capability to run Call of Duty Mobile, players will first and foremost need Android emulator GameLoop, which specifically promises that "exclusive key mapping and in-depth adaption will bring you the most immersive and wonderful experience of Call of Duty: Mobile." GameLoop is a free program that adds PC support for a vast number of mobile titles, such as PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, and Clash of Kings. When playing PUBG Mobile with an emulator, servers will even detect it and match players with others doing the same, but it's unclear if Call of Duty Mobile will have the same capabilities.

In addition to being free-to-play, Call of Duty Mobile adapts "classic game modes, maps, weapons and characters" from the main first-person shooter series into a widely accessible mobile setting. Developed by Tencent Games (the parent company of League of Legends developer Riot Games), the mobile title has already revealed some recognizable elements from Black Ops 4, including the Crash and Nuketown maps, a number of specialists, and gadgets. Of course, it's also quite monetized, with two currencies, a battle pass, and a battle royale mode in the mix.

Many Call of Duty fans have been getting hyped for the arrival of Modern Warfare--albeit amid disappointment over the game's Spec Op: Survival mode exclusivity deal with PlayStation-- which launches on October 25. However, Call of Duty Mobile could very well fill the time before its launch, especially when it can be run on computers. Since it's a mobile game, this edition could be very well suited to people with less-powerful computers that can't handle the strain of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty Mobile is available now for iOS, and launches October 1 for Android.
