It's no secret that Fortnite is the king of crossovers, with even the most casual of fans well aware of the game's penchant for outside content. Fortnite's reign of collaborations continues with the announcement of not one, but two new Thor skins from Marvel: Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor.

As veteran Fortnite fans may recall, this isn't the first time the God of Thunder has come to the island. During the events of Chapter 2 Season 4, Thor acted as a herald for big bad Galactus, who intended to consume the world of Fortnite before being stopped. While the previous version of Thor was of Odinson's more recent cosmic god-like appearance, the new skins are a bit different.

How to Get Thor Skins in Fortnite

Fortnite has revealed that players will be able to attain both Thor Odinson and Jane Foster's Mighty Thor, giving a total of three different versions of the Thunder God.

Currently, the only way for players to get both Thor skins is to purchase the Gods of Thunder Pack from Fortnite's item shop.

The skins are not available individually, although each ones comes with its own set of cosmetics. Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor feature their respective Stormbreaker and Mjolnir Pickaxes, which double as gliders, as well as cape Back Blings. The Gods of Thunder Loading Screen is also included.

Additionally, the Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor skins, as well as the Stormbreaker and Mjolnir pickaxes, come with a Full Charge style, becoming electrified as players get eliminations or hit weak points.

The Gods of Thunder Pack also includes the Bring The Hammer Down Emote, which looks like a less destructive version of what Thor's hammer did to the Fortnite map the last time he was there.

Despite the marketing for the skins clearly being for the new Thor: Love and Thunder film, both skins, while outfitted in similar Asgardian armor featured in recent trailers, appear to be modeled after their traditional comic book appearances rather than Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman.

This is a practice Fortnite has kept with seemingly all of its Marvel skins, like Spider-Man's Green Goblin, as a way for Fortnite to distinguish its Marvel crossovers as something separate from the ongoing MCU.

While many fans are likely excited at the prospect of new skins from the Thor franchise, Marvel is one of the most frequent collaborators with the battle royale title, therefore becoming one of the most expected properties.

However, a new major franchise may soon make its debut, as a recent leak alleges Dragon Ball Z content is coming to Fortnite.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
