CD Projekt RED reveals more details about how Cyberpunk 2077's crafting will work. The Cyberpunk 2077 developer had already confirmed that crafting would be in the game, but fans are surprised as the feature sounds far more advanced than they had first thought.

In direct messages with the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, a fan asked the team about crafting ammunition for the game's various weapon types and the crafting system. While CD Projekt RED failed to confirm if players would be able to craft weapon ammo or if there would be different ammo types, it did say that players would be able to craft "multiple items." Some of these items are armor, shards for cyberware, weapon modules, special weapons, consumables, and gadgets.

The developer also revealed that "everyone can craft" and that it won't be restricted because of what lifepath a player has chosen for their character and there aren't any restrictive classes in the game. However, players will have to "invest in the right perks." CD Projekt RED has teased several skills that players can choose for their character, such as skills that allow players to use a weapon in a special way.

A screenshot of the messages was posted on Reddit, where many Cyberpunk 2077 fans expressed shock at how much thought has been put into the crafting system. "Sounds more intriguing and extensive than I even remotely originally expected to be," wrote one user, while another said that it would offer a "bit more depth" to those who want to play through the game as a resourceful character. It could also offer more customization with characters and playthroughs.

Some are bit more skeptical, however. One user, named Loostreaks, says that the crafting system was one of the criticisms they had of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which often felt like busywork. The Cyberpunk 2077 fan asks that the game has No "Enhanced" or "Superior" versions that convolute it and that players can "automatically be able to craft higher-end versions" with the appropriate material and skill That information may not be addressed in the Twitter messages, but fans are hoping that CD Projekt RED will share more information soon.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
