Hotline Miami and its sequel Hotline Miami 2 both offer ultraviolent top-down shooter gameplay for action game fans, and now Switch owners can see what all the fuss is about. As announced by Nintendo at Gamescom 2019, both Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 are available today for the Nintendo Switch, collected together as Hotline Miami Collection.

Nintendo Switch owners can purchase and download Hotline Miami Collection today for $24.99. As mentioned previously, the collection includes both Hotline Miami and its sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The original Hotline Miami received critical acclaim at the time of its release and even won some awards. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number didn't have quite as warm of a reception, but the game still had its fans.

With the release of Hotline Miami Collection, some may be wondering if a third Hotline Miami game could be in the works. Developer Dennaton Games hasn't made any announcements about a new Hotline Miami, and in fact, we have no idea what the two-man studio is working on. Its last release was 2015's Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, and so its next project has presumably been in development for a few years at this point.

While fans of Dennaton Games' style of ultraviolent gameplay wait to see what's next from the studio, hopefully Hotline Miami Collection can tide them over. However, those who have already sunk a lot of time into the games in the past should be warned that there doesn't appear to be much in the way of major upgrades for Hotline Miami Collection. In fact, it appears to just be the original two games with no real upgrades beyond the advantages that the Nintendo Switch itself provides.

Those who decide to pick up Hotline Miami Collection on the Switch will of course have the ability to play the game both on the go and on their TV. So perhaps those who already own Hotline Miami on the PS4 or PC may be tempted to get the Switch version so they can play it wherever they want.

Hotline Miami Collection coming to the Switch marks the first time any game in the series has been on a Nintendo console, so at the very least, Nintendo loyalists will have something new to play today.

Hotline Miami Collection is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
