While no details have been announced on the specifics of the new game, the knowledge of its existence  is sure to keep many fans glued to his Twitter hoping for new details, especially with Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 being celebrated by fans and critics alike as one of the best indie franchises in recent years.

Released in 2012, Hotline Miami and its sequel would release for several platforms over the years including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo Switch. Hotline Miami's depiction of a 1980's underground Miami was seen as a huge draw for the game with visuals depicting the city's heat and 80s vibe. The use of saturated hues and much beloved synthwave soundtrack combined to add the the cult following the game has had since.

The frantic gameplay of Hotline Miami helped the game carve a niche at the time of release. With Sony and Microsoft both focusing on contracts with dozens of indie developers at the time, both consoles were overwrought with indie titles making it difficult for many games to stand out on any given day. Hotline Miami managed to push past such barriers and won several awards during its launch year across several gaming websites. Recently The Hotline Miami collection was launched on the Xbox One, bringing the series to a whole new audience.

Hotline Miami is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
