Dennaton Games brought Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number together as Hotline Miami Collection on the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The bundled re-release was first announced by Nintendo at Gamescom 2019, and today that collection is officially available on Xbox One.

The Hotline Miami Twitter account put out a minute-long trailer to announce this shadow release that showcases the high-octane, ultraviolent top-down gameplay and vaporwave aesthetic fans of the series have come to love since the first game was published by Devolver Digital in 2012. Hotline Miami Collection is currently $24.99 on the Microsoft Store, but available for 50 percent off on the Switch eShop.

While Hotline Miami's uniquely over-the-top nature has garnered the indie series plenty of love, it has also run into trouble for its explicit nature. Hotline Miami 2 was denied classification by the Australian Classification Board in 2015, effectively banning it in that country.

The surprise release of this collection on Xbox might be more commonplace going forward, as Microsoft has announced it will have all digital conferences through July 2021 due to coronavirus concerns. It's unfortunate for conventions like E3, but likely for the best.

Hotline Miami Collection is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
