Hot Wheels Unleashed has been available for a couple of weeks now, but the title is already set to receive a plethora of post-launch goodies. The upcoming content for the game centers around Batman and his Rogues' Gallery of DC super-villains, which showcases some very creatively designed cars.

Milestone's hit arcade racer Hot Wheels Unleashed marks the first time since 2013's Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver of there being a standalone Hot Wheels title. The last time Hot Wheels had any sort of video game presence was the highly popular Hot Wheels expansion in Forza Horizon 3, which released back in 2017.

Premiering during the DC Kids FanDome online event, the Hot Wheels Unleashed trailer shows off its first Racing Season, which starts November 11 and features a DC super-villains theme. Players will be able to gain acces to six different cars over the course of the first season, including designs inspired by Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Bane, and Deathstroke, as well as Batman-adjacent villains Black Manta and The Cheetah. In addition to the new vehicles, 12 new items will become available for players' basements, along with a new profile icon, tag, and background.

The second half of the trailer details the separate Batman Expansion, which includes an even more robust offering of content. Launching December 2, the DLC will include a brand-new racing environment, which is none other than the iconic Batcave. Five more customizable Hot Wheels vehicles come with the expansion, including diecast models based on Joker, Penguin, Robin, and a pair of Batman variants. Players can collect themed coins, gears, and other customization items simply by completing certain levels and daily activities during the season, but the bulk of the content will remain paid DLC.

Batman and DC super-villains is an impressive start for Hot Wheels Unleashed's crossover content, but it should be just the beginning. In a recent interview with Game Rant, lead Hot Wheels Unleashed game designer Federico Cardini reveals Street Fighter cars are planned for the future. Cardini specifically states the cars of the hallmark fighting franchise are "an example," which potentially alludes to even more video game franchise crossovers in the future.

With both the inaugural season and Batman DLC coming in the next few months, Hot Wheels Unleashed fans have plenty to look forward to for the rest of the year. The polished graphics and arcade-style racing have made Hot Wheels Unleashed one of the best-reviewed Hot Wheels video games of all time, and its post-launch content should help to push it towards the very top of the list.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
