Those excited for Horizon: Zero Dawn will be happy to know that tomorrow – Tuesday, February 28 – is the big day when this new PS4 exclusive from Guerrilla Games launches. Well, if they live in the U.S., that is, as the European release is not until a day later, on Wednesday March 1. However, people that pre-ordered Horizon: Zero Dawn who live on the West coast can already play it at 9 p.m. tonight, as the game unlocks at midnight Eastern time. Pre-loading is already available now, with the size of the download being a whopping 40GB.

Besides being able to get started on Horizon: Zero Dawn before everyone else does, people who pre-ordered the game will also have access to a few extra in-game items as well as a few physical curios based on the game, like figurines and an art book. The extra items that come with the Horizon: Zero Dawn Collector's Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are nothing to sneeze at, either, as they will often give protagonist Aloy a serious edge in combat.

Both special editions are currently still available, so if the extra bit of firepower as well as being able to get started on Horizon: Zero Dawn tonight sounds like a good idea, both versions are available at the PlayStation Store right now. What time the European version of the game will unlock is unclear, though we can assume it will be at midnight on Wednesday as well, though it could be either at British or continental time.

Either way, players can look forward to an exciting romp through a unique open world; one research firm was so impressed with the previews of Horizon: Zero Dawn – not to mention the glowing reviews – that they have predicted the game will sell up to eight million copies. Whether it will be that much remains to be seen, but player feedback should be starting to roll in within just a few hours later today.

Horizon: Zero Dawn launches on February 28 in the U.S. and March 1 in Europe, exclusively for the PS4.
