Sony announced in March that Horizon Zero Dawn, the open-world action game from Guerrilla Games, would be coming to PC. At the time, however, only a release window and not a release date was provided. That's now been corrected, as Sony revealed Friday morning that the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Collection will be coming to PC on August 7. Alongside the announcement, Sony also released a new trailer detailing the Horizon Zero Dawn PC release's new features.

As would be expected from a PC port for such a graphical powerhouse like Horizon Zero Dawn, Sony and Guerrilla Games are ensuring it includes all of the features PC gamers are going to require. The trailer details feature additions including ultra-wide monitor support, unlocked framerates, dynamic foliage accommodating all PC hardware, improved reflections, controller mapping, as well as a benchmarking tool to help PC gamers figure out the settings best for their hardware.

Horizon Zero Dawn on PC will also, of course, offer complete control of the game's graphical settings. Settings include the display resolution, field of view, FPS limit, V-sync, HDR for those with monitors supporting the feature, and more. The quality can also be changed for in-game textures, shadows, reflections, and even clouds. Every PC is unique and they deserve graphical settings supporting each of them.

There was also one further announcement made regarding the upcoming release of Horizon  Zero Dawn on PC. Sony's now confirmed that the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Collection will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store - no exclusive storefront availability.

The Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Collection will include both the base game of Horizon Zero Dawn as well as its one major expansion, The Frozen Wilds. It also includes all of the game's various pre-order and launch DLC, including an array of unique outfits and bows, among other things. Needless to say, the "Complete" label is accurate.

With the release of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC being so soon, players will have plenty of opportunity to finish the game before the launch of the PlayStation 5, let alone Horizon Forbidden West.  As such, they can decide for themselves if they want to invest in the console so that they can eventually play the sequel at launch. It's possible Horizon Forbidden West will also end up coming to PC, but that's likely to be a significantly longer wait.

Horizon Zero Dawn is available now on PS4 and launches August 7 on PC.
