Rumors and misinformation have flittered around since last year about Horizon Zero Dawn receiving a PC port. But as a today, an official confirmation from Hermen Hulst puts an end to them.

Hulst is the Head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios and the former managing director of Guerrilla -- the studio behind Horizon Zero Dawn. As such, when he took part in an interview with PlayStation Blog (PSB) to discuss the PlayStation's future, the game inevitably came up.

Specifically, PSB asked whether or not Horizon would receive a PC release. Hulst not only confirmed that it would but said that the release would happen sometime this Summer. He didn't have an exact date to offer but did state that more information on the subject would arrive soon from Guerrilla, specifically from its new studio directors Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets.

Horizon Zero Dawn arriving on the PC makes it the first PlayStation exclusive created by one of its first-party studios to port to another gaming machine. So PSB followed up by asking Hurst if he had anything to say to PlayStation fans about the announcement, and he wanted to assure them that the appearance of one PlayStation exclusive title on PC doesn't mean that all of them would. He also stated that this was a good way to put others on to how good PlayStation exclusives can be. This question and its response, for those lacking context, are geared toward a select group of PlayStation fans that have voiced their distaste on the idea of exclusive titles going to other platforms.

Once the interview went live, Guerrilla stepped in and made its own announcement about Zero Dawn's PC arrival through its official Twitter account. Once again, no exact date was provided, but the tweet posted by the studio leads to Horizon Zero Dawn's official Steam page, confirming that it will be available on Steam when it releases.

As a final note, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will be the version of the game that releases. So anyone looking forward to playing it on PC when it arrives can rest assured that they will have access to the Frozen Wilds DLC and all the other updates made to the vanilla version. There was no mention of Horizon Zero Dawn 2's development, but rumors have been circulating that as well. Maybe Guerrilla's studio heads will bring it up when they make their announcement about the PC port.

Horizon Zero Dawn will come to the PC sometime in summer 2020.
