The gaming community has yet to see a release date for the widely awaited PC port of the popular PlayStation 4 exclusive, Horizon Zero Dawn. While the port itself has been in development for quite some time, very few details regarding its release have been made public. However, the developers have recently shown off a new technical detail that will be included in the PC release of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a popular action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and is one of very few video games to run on the Decima Engine. The game was originally released as PS4 exclusive and has since become one of the best selling games for that system. However, a PC port has been in development for quite some time and has caused quite a stir within the gaming community.

Outside of the fact that the PC port has been confirmed and is currently in development, not much is actually known about the port itself. However, it was recently revealed via the official Steam page that the PC version will support ultrawide monitors. This is based on the size of a gameplay screenshot featured on the Steam page being 3440×1440.

This information was later confirmed by the Guerrilla Games community manager. This is certainly good news for any PC exclusive gamers, given the customizable nature of PC gaming in general. Not to mention that because this game will be released on Steam, this means that the modding community will have free reign of whatever mods they want to create for the game.

Sony PC

It's nice to see that such a popular and critically acclaimed game will be able to be enjoyed by other people outside of PS4 owners. While console exclusive games largely contribute to the purchasing of said console, it can certainly be upsetting to some. Especially those who do not own whatever console is required to play that specific game.

However, some PS4 owners have shown a great deal of distaste over the Horizon Zero Dawn PC port. This anger largely stems from the fact that the game will no longer be a PlayStation 4 exclusive anymore once the PC version has released, which seems somewhat strange. After all, even more people will be able to experience this beautifully crafted game as a result of this PC port.
