The full world map for Guerrilla Games' forthcoming open world action-RPG adventure, Horizon: Zero Dawn, surfaces online and details the names of various areas in the game.

With Horizon: Zero Dawn easily being considered one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017, it's safe to presume that most fans want to absorb as much knowledge as possible about the title before its release at the end of this month in order to determine if its worth a day one purchase. As it happens, those looking to see a rough estimate as to how large the action-RPG's open world will be are in luck, as Horizon: Zero Dawn's full world map just recently surfaced online.

Thanks to the fine folks over at Game Revolution (via NeoGAF), Horizon: Zero Dawn fans can get a good gander at the game's versatile landscapes and terrains in the highly illustrated map below, as it features lush forestry, mountainous regions, snowy plains, and even what appears to be desert territory. Not to mention, it looks like the image offers up a glimpse at some potentially key areas from the game, with the major regions possibly being Mother's Heart, Meridian, and Sunfall due to their positioning on the map.

Beneath the names for each of the areas in the Horizon: Zero Dawn map above, there is an icon which is assigned a different color, including yellow, green, blue, and red. At this point in time, there's no telling what the either the symbols or hues mean in terms of denotation. However, it's quite possible that the colors could indicate which region consists of a certain tribe and culture, or maybe even what kinds of dinosaur-designed machines reside in the area.

For those impressed by the size of Horizon: Zero Dawn's map, it's worth keeping in mind how far Guerrilla Games has come over the course of its existence as a video game development company. As a matter of fact, one would do well to check out a recently released video from the studio showing the road it traveled from making the first-person shooter known as Killzone to an action-RPG that's set in a sprawling open world.

Without a doubt, many Horizon: Zero Dawn fans would consider the release of the title's full world map as a huge tease for what's to come in the actual game itself. Thankfully, though, they won't have to wait much longer to play Horizon: Zero Dawn and explore the open world as the protagonist Aloy, as the game recently went gold and has its release scheduled in a little less than a month from now.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is set to launch on February 28, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
