As Guerrilla Games gears up to release the latest DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn, the developer launches a new video which introduces players to a fierce new mechanical beast that can be found in The Frozen Wilds. Contrasting with the upcoming content's theme, the Scorcher will unsurprisingly be the cause of quite the heated battle once players encounter one in the game's new area.

In the new trailer entitled "Meet the Scorcher," some of Horizon: Zero Dawn's development team show players what the new robot has in store for them. The Scorcher will primarily use fire-based attacks as it hunts the player, spreading flames out in the nearby area as it does so. The mechanical enemy can also use a series of thrusters on its body to perform an "Ignition Boost," launching it towards its prey at high, uncontrollable speeds.

It looks like the Scorcher can prove to be quite the challenging enemy, especially when attacking in packs. Players looking to defeat them must carefully time their dodges and counter-attack quickly in order to stun the creature before it can launch itself at protagonist Aloy once more. Once stunned, the Scorcher can more easily be defeated with melee combat but finding the opportunity to fight back might prove challenging.

Players will be able to fight the Scorcher when The Frozen Wilds launches on November 7th, as the final DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn. Although the new IP has been rated as one of PlayStation 4's best exclusives, the game has not previously received any additional post-launch content, possibly due to the significant length of the base title.

The upcoming DLC will release alongside Horizon: Zero Dawn's Complete Edition, which comes with the game, the new expansion, and the bonus content from the Deluxe Edition release. That bonus content consists of two new outfits and weapons for both the Carja and the Banuk tribes, as well as two resource packs.

No further bonuses have yet been confirmed, though the $49.99 price tag seems more than reasonable for so much content. For those who already own the game, using a PS Plus membership can allow for a 25% discount when purchasing the DLC by itself.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is out now, exclusively on PlayStation 4. The Frozen Wilds expansion is releasing on November 7th.
