Horizon: Zero Dawn has certainly been recognized for its excellence in the past, as the open world action-adventure title from Guerrilla Games already won Best Original Game at E3 2016’s Game Critics Awards, but it looks like the accolades aren’t over yet. As it so happens, the PlayStation 4 exclusive has now been named as having the Best Original Score for a Video Game at the 12th Annual Jerry Goldsmith Awards.

As seen below in the tweet from Guerrilla Games, the developer’s senior sound designer and the music supervisor for Horizon: Zero Dawn, Lucas van Tol, holds the award while standing next to soundtrack and film score vocalist, Julie Elven, who contributed work to the game’s score. The award also recognizes the work of composers Joris de Man, The Flight, Niels van der Leest, Jonathan Williams, who are not pictured.

For those unaware, The Jerry Goldsmith Awards have been put in place to honor the work of musicians in the mediums of film, television, advertising, and video games. As it so happens, Horizon: Zero Dawn wasn’t the only video game to win big at this year’s event, as David Garcia won the award for Best Song in a Video Game for  “Song of the Sea” from Tequila Works and Grey Box Games’ adventure-puzzle title, RiME.

In addition to Horizon: Zero Dawn and RiME, a couple of other video games were acknowledged during this year’s ceremonies for the Jerry Goldsmith Awards. The video game category at the event also included honorable mentions for Farpoint, which was orchestrated by Stephen Cox and Danny McIntire, and The Bunker, which came from the composer Dom Shovelton.

All things considered, it’s great to see video games like Horizon: Zero Dawn receive their due honors at ceremonies such as the Jerry Goldsmith Awards, as it not only validates the hard work and dedication of those who compose the music to our favorite titles, but also continues to elevate gaming to the status of other artistic storytelling mediums as film and television. Without a doubt, as video games continue to become more of a mainstream past time, we should expect to see even more recognition of the art form in the future.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is available now for PlayStation 4.
