Aloy had to endure through many different villains through Horizon: Zero Dawn, from Helis the fanatical cult leader to HADES himself, not even accounting for the multitude of killer machines that want nothing more than her head on a pike. At the end of the day, Aloy managed to overcome all of her adversaries and come out victorious in the final battle for Earth, aside from HADES mysteriously flying off to Sylens.

This begs the question: how would Aloy fair against other video game antagonists? While the mighty Thunderjaw may have been an imposing threat that could have taken her out in a heartbeat if she wasn't careful, there are villains that are even more powerful than this Grimlock knockoff.

10 Defeat: Bowser

Aloy contends with many large monsters in her travels, most having the power to squash her under their enormous feet with ease. What gives her the edge in battle, aside from her rigorous training as a child with Rost, is her speed and agility. When it comes to this Mario villain, that's exactly what will give her the edge against the King Koopa.

While he may an imposing and powerful adversary, the fact that he consistently falls to the likes of Mario who, while he does display some feats of strength that defy normal human logic, is just a regular plumber who took the call to action against Bowser and hasn't stopped since his first rescue of Princess Peach.

9 Lose To: Ganon

The Nintendo franchises have many powerful villains in its roster, but none are quite as unkillable as Ganon, the demon king incarnate and bane of Link's existence. While his forms and powers vary from game to game, it's safe to say that even without the Triforce of Power in his possession, Ganon is a force to be reckoned with, particularly in his beast form.

While he isn't indestructible by any means, it takes the immense power of Light Arrows, a weapon fueled by the power of a Goddess, to even attempt to take him down. Aloy may be a master with a bow, but nothing in her arsenal comes close to being able to touch Ganon.

8 Defeat: Kesler

The main villain of another PlayStation exclusive game, Kesler appears out of the blue to inform Cole that there's nothing he can do to stop whatever he has planned for Empire City. While Kesler is an immensely powerful Conduit, even compared to the likes of Alden Tate, the telekinetic, and Cole, he manages to fall short in terms of power when it comes to his past self.

Kesler may have the power to teleport and time travel, on top of having most of the same powers as Cole, but his added speed did nothing to stop the hero from winning out in the end in spite of his speed advantage. While it could be a tough battle, Aloy surely has the tools and experience needed to come out on top in this battle.

7 Lose To: The Beast

Unlike Kesler, The Beast is a massively imposing force of power and destruction. As a living Ray Sphere, he has not only the power to grant other Conduits new abilities, but is virtually indestructible by conventional methods. It took the eradication of all Ray Field energy, and subsequently the death of every Conduit on Earth, to stop him from creating the future that Kesler tried so hard to prevent.

Even a nuclear missile fired right into his face did nothing to stop The Beast, who just walked it off as if it were a mosquito bite and powered through to Cole.

6 Defeat: GLaDOS

Aloy has faced many machines and artificial intelligences in her life, but nothing quite like the undisputed ruler of testing, GLaDOS. While she does have total control over Aperture Labs, able to create whole floors of rooms from what was left lying around, her power aside from this is fairly limited.

Even Wheatley, a far inferior A.I. robot, managed to outmaneuver her long enough to depose her and take over the position she had held for so long.

5 Lose To: Anubis

This Orbital Frame may be one of the most overpowered mechs in gaming. This enormous flying tank is fast enough to evade even Jehuty, its twin which should be just as powerful, with ease. It can also teleport short distances and can withstand a beating that would put the Joker to shame.

Compared to the likes of the Thunderjaw and Stormbird, two of the most powerful machines in Horizon, Anubis might even be able to destroy the Metal Devils left lying dead across the Earth, should anyone be stupid enough to think that turning them back on again is a good idea.

4 Defeat: Dr. Nefarious

He may be played off for comedy most of the time, but Dr. Nefarious is probably one of the most powerful beings in the Ratchet and Clank universe. Despite his psychotic nature and several major technical issues that can cause him to be briefly impaired for a few moments, he just keeps coming back to cause more trouble for the Lombax and his robot sidekick.

Where Aloy would have a distinct advantage against Nefarious is that while he possesses quite powerful weapons, armor, and ships at his disposal, they aren't any more powerful than the Thunderjaws or Deathbringers that she has faced down multiple times in her adventures.

3 Lose To: The Hiss

While the central antagonist of Control may not be a corporeal entity, their influence over the employees at the Federal Bureau of Control was near absolute and would have resulted in an apocalyptic level event had Jesse and Hadron/Polaris not intervened.

What made Jesse so potent an ally against The Hiss was her control over Polaris' powers and her ability to nullify the mutative effects of The Hiss, which isn't something that can be replicated by some high tech Frankensteining on Aloy's part.

2 Defeat: Team Rocket

As far as Pokémon villains go, there are few that actually pose a definitive threat to the player. While the original evil team may have fallen particularly easily and not even been an impactful part of Pokémon Red and Blue's story, their influence in the world was enough that they continued to come back time and time again, despite their defeats.

Their leaders, in particular, Giovanni, have some of the more powerful Pokémon at their disposal, but as seen multiple times throughout the anime and video games, even the most powerful creatures are no match for heavy machinery, which Aloy is a master of dismantling.

1 Lose To: Alduin

The World Eater himself, Alduin may look like nothing more than an overly edgy Stormbird in the eyes of Aloy, but that would be the first mistake in their battle on her part. While his constant flying around may have been more than a little annoying for The Last Dragonborn, they were capable of taking down a god that has lived for millennia without much hassle.

Like with The Hiss, Aloy lacks the particular power that would help her win the battle against Alduin, in this case, the Dragonborn's innate ability to learn words of power and the language of the Dovah. Maybe given enough time with the Greybeards, she might have a sliver of a chance, but it is highly unlikely she would win this battle.
