The Horizon Zero Dawn video game sequel might make its debut appearance at the upcoming PlayStation 5 event. The lead animator behind the first Horizon Zero Dawn, Richard Oud, tweeted a statement (that has since been deleted) that told fans to make sure to mark their calendars in preparation for the premiere.

For those out of the loop, Sony is hosting a function for the PlayStation 5 game reveal, where it will show off several of the titles that the console will have available to it at launch. Horizon Zero Dawn's sequel has numerous rumors saying that it will be made exclusively for the next-gen console, so if Oud's telling fans to tune in, then the game has a strong possibility of making an appearance.

At least, this is the though process fans looking forward to the reveal have. Richard Oud never actually stated in his tweet that a Horizon Zero Dawn video game sequel would be making an appearance. It's not like he actually would since that would go against the whole point of a reveal event, but still.

Since Oud didn't outright say it, the idea that Horizon Zero Dawn's proper sequel will appear at the PS5 event is speculation. Outside of Oud, Guerrilla Games hasn't said anything either — not at the time of this writing anyway. Keeping that in mind, Oud could just be promoting the event because he's a PS5 fan.

Still, if there ever were a good time to reveal a proper sequel for the game, now would be it. Unlike the Horizon Zero Dawn PlayStation magazine fiasco that happened last month, this PS5 videogame reveal would be a perfect place for Guerrilla Games to announce the sequel's development.

And while Guerrilla may not have said anything about Horizon's sequel appearing at the event, it has been hiring new people to join the game's development team, including — funny enough — another Lead Animator. It's unknown how long the studio has had Horizon's sequel in development — if it does — but the original game came out three years ago, and Guerrilla's been hiring for around six months, so it can have something to show off.

If Guerrilla does end up showing off the sequel, maybe it'll also confirm if the Horizon Zero Dawn trilogy rumor is real or not. The event will only last around an hour, though, so again, it all depends on how much time Guerrilla has to present.

Horizon Zero Dawn released for the PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2017.
