Players that pre-order Horizon Forbidden West, or purchase its Deluxe Edition, are entitled to a number of special items. These items are not available immediately upon starting the game, though, and it may take fans a couple of hours to reach the point where they can claim them. This guide contains more specific details on that process, and it will help players collect their Horizon Forbidden West pre-order and Deluxe Edition items.

Horizon Forbidden West: How to Claim Pre-Order Bonus Items

There are two pre-order bonus items: the Nora Legacy Outfit and the Nora Legacy Spear. To claim these items, Horizon Forbidden West players must complete the game's intro and reach its open world, and, as previously noted, that can be a multi-hour process. Once a fan has made it to the open world, they should simply visit any Stash and collect their DLC items from within its Weapons and Outfits tabs. Perhaps the easiest Stash to visit first is the one near the center of Chainscrape, though they can be found in many locations.

Horizon Forbidden West: How to Claim Deluxe Edition Items

Horizon Forbidden West Deluxe Edition owners can find their Carja Behemoth Elite Outfit, Carja Behemoth Short Bow, Nora Thunder Elite Outfit, Nora Thunder Sling, Nora Legacy Outfit, and Nora Legacy Spear in the Weapons and Outfits tabs of their Stashes. The Apex Clawstrider Strike Piece can also be claimed from a Stash, through its Strike Pieces tab, though it cannot be used until Machine Strike has been unlocked. Fortunately, players do not have to wait long to use the Apex Clawstrider Strike Piece, as they can unlock this board game in Chainscrape.

With respect to the Photo Mode extras that come with the Deluxe Edition, those are available directly through Horizon Forbidden West's Photo Mode. To access this mode, players simply need to hit the Option button on their controllers and select Photo Mode from the menu that appears. This action will bring up an interface that fans can use to select their Deluxe Edition Body Pose, Face Paint, and much more.

To note, players should not expect to use their pre-order and Deluxe Edition items for very long. Indeed, there are more powerful options for battling Horizon Forbidden West's machines, and fans should definitely upgrade when possible. Even still, these items provide a nice boost in the early stages of the game, and many players will be happy to have access to them as they begin their journeys across the Forbidden West.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
