According to a recent leak, Horizon Forbidden West could well be on its way to a PC release. Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to 2017's critically acclaimed open-world action game Horizon Zero Dawn. Picking up on the story of Aloy as she travels to new lands, furthers her quest to find out more about the old world, and faces off against new machines, Horizon Forbidden West was a successful sequel, even grabbing a game of the year award in July.

While Horizon Forbidden West released as a Sony exclusive, only coming to the PS4 and PS5 when it launched back in February, PlayStation Studios games have been made available on other platforms before. It seems in recent years that Sony is putting a lot of focus on the PC market, as titles such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Marvel's Spider-Man have all been made available on Steam in 2022. In October, fans will also see the PC release of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

This means that it is highly unlikely a PC release of Horizon Forbidden West is out of the question. According to a leaked Sony document, which has been unveiled on DSO, it seems that the port of Horizon Forbidden West could even already be in the works. The document allegedly leaked from GeForce Now, Nvidia's video game streaming service, and contains a list of titles that are reportedly coming to the service, which implies that these titles will be PC ports. There isn't a release date listed for Horizon Forbidden West on PC, but it did take Horizon Zero Dawn a few years before it became available on the platform.

It is unlikely, then, that Sony will be announcing a port any time soon, if there is one. However, it shouldn't be surprising to fans that there could be a planned release of Horizon Forbidden West on PC, considering the success of Horizon Zero Dawn on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is also good to know that those who don't own a PS4 or PS5 may still have a chance to continue Aloy's story. Alongside revealing a possible Horizon Forbidden West PC release, this leak also informed fans about a multiplayer Horizon game coming to both PC and PS5, as well as a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.

The rumored Horizon Zero Dawn remaster received a controversial response online, as many have stated that the game doesn't necessarily need a remake, considering it only released five years ago. This seems to be an even more controversial remaster than that of The Last of Us, which many called unnecessary due to the original game's graphics holding up even eight years after its 2013 release.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now for PS4 and PS5.
