Horizon Forbidden West has only been out for almost three months and has already racked up impressive statistics from a supportive player-base. At the end of April, Guerrilla Games shared that players had flown 41 million km, traveled 54 million km on mounts, and swam over 28 million km, demonstrating how dynamic traversal is in Horizon Forbidden West.

Later, another impressive statistic had been shared that related to deaths at the hands of Horizon Forbidden West's Clawstriders. 64 percent of players had been killed by a Clawstrider's melee attacks, while 17 percent died by fire and 19 percent died by acid. Today, Horizon Forbidden West's newest statistics have been shared in relation to combat with three particular creatures: one being a common machine, another being an incredibly intimidating machine, and the third being a nonantagonistic mammal that is part of the wildlife fauna.

In an edit that shows off each of these creatures, Aloy evades and strikes multiple Burrowers before she slides beneath a Thunderjaw and inflicts freeze on it. The edit then shows a peccary in the distance as it sees the Thunderjaw's massive AoE air strike and hilariously runs off. This funny edit accompanies the statistics for each creature killed: more than 274 million burrowers, 13 million Thunderjaws, and 61 million peccaries. These numbers represent just how many players are active in Horizon Forbidden West's unique combat.

With such a gargantuan number of peccaries killed, it is safe to assume that a majority of players have crafted multiple pouch upgrades, which require many wildlife resources such as bones and hides to fashion. Burrowers are commonly found in earlier areas of Horizon Forbidden West's open-world, and they are one of the least difficult machines to incapacitate, so a number as immense as 274 million is reasonable if not still impressive.

Thunderjaws are more frequently found in the center of the map, wedged right in Tenakth territory. Thunderjaws are easily one of Horizon Zero Dawn's most fearsome machines to face, so the fact that 13 million have already been taken down in Horizon Forbidden West is no small feat. Moreover, Horizon Forbidden West introduces several other ferocious and sizable machines in its brand-new environments and biomes, which help to uniquely identify the sequel in its second and third acts.

These combat statistics are sure to rise even more as months pass. But the statistics are already impressive for such a short period of time after launch, and continues to demonstrate the impact that Horizon Forbidden West has had as an action-RPG, especially when it is exclusive to PlayStation.

Horizon Forbidden West is currently available for PS4 and PS5.
