Updated on July 21st, 2023 by Hodey Johns: With the game still popular and New Game Plus keeping things fresh, this guide needed a revisit. An arguably better Hunter Bow exists (Tears of the Land God) for those who play New Game Plus and it has been added to the list. Additionally, the previous item entries have been updated with pictures that show both locations on the map and targets through the player's eyes. This should help gamers looking to get these Hunter Bows quickly without needing to read. For readers who do want to know the particulars, the perks for each weapon have been summarized into bullet points.

Perks are stated based on the maxed-out version of the weapon.

Sun Scourge

The first step toward obtaining the Sun Scourge Legendary Hunter Bow is clearing all five Rebel Camps on Horizon Forbidden West's map. Players will receive a quest called "First Forge" as soon as they complete the last one. This quest will lead fans to Erend and a sixth Rebel Camp, and it ultimately concludes with a fight against Asera.

Horizon Forbidden West Facing Asera

Upon dispatching this foe, players should simply loot her body to obtain the Sun Scourge, which they can put into action immediately. While there are numerous reasons to equip this weapon, its range of damage types makes it extremely useful in many situations. For players who think the game has too much combat, this bow will shorten up fights as few enemies can put up a fight against the Sun Scourage Legendary Hunter Bow.

Death-Seeker's Shadow

With those Medals in hand, players should speak with Dukkah, the Prize Master at the Arena, and purchase the Death-Seeker's Shadow Legendary Hunting Bow directly from her. Even after unlocking New Game Plus, the Death-Seeker's Shadow remains a top-tier weapon.

New Game Plus Only: Tears Of The Land God

As with most of the New Game Plus items of note, players will need 10 Champion Tokens. These are collected by completing quests and side quests automatically during a New Game Plus run.

After acquiring the tokens, head to any standard weapons vendor and find the Tears of the Land God available for purchase. Players who are trying to find and acquire every weapon in the game will want to repeat this process for all of the legendary weapons added in New Game Plus.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
