A Horizon fan recently shared a beautifully handcrafted doll of franchise protagonist Aloy that they were gifted for their birthday. In recent years, the Horizon community has been just as creative as the robotic dinosaurs that attracted so much attention to the IP, this creation acting only as further evidence of that.

Horizon saw the series' second entry earlier this year with Horizon Forbidden West, which released to critical acclaim. Many believed that while the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn did not reinvent the franchise, Horizon Forbidden West was an excellent iteration and subsequent improvement on what came before, with facial animations, melee combat, and the means of exploration often noted as having been significantly developed upon. Unfortunately, Horizon Forbidden West was somewhat overshadowed by Elden Ring's release just one week later, with the latest title by FromSoftware dominating online gaming culture and discourse for months. In spite of this, there exists a substantial Horizon community that adored the game, with Aloy continuing to be a fan favorite character.

It is no surprise that anything revolving around Aloy would be highly sought after, but one talented fan took this into their own hands and the result can be seen in a Reddit post by u/Joodyka. The image presents an expertly handcrafted Aloy doll, equipped with her bow, traditional outfit, and signature hairstyle. Replies to the post are in agreement that the doll is exquisitely made, demonstrating significant talent.

Some joked that the doll would sneak around at night and override appliances, or leave shock traps strewn across the house, one of the many tools in Aloy's arsenal throughout Horizon.

The Horizon franchise is much beloved and has been successful broadening out to different mediums. As one of the most recognizable creature designs from Horizon, the Tallneck had a LEGO set released at the same time Horizon Forbidden West arrived, and there has been recent news of a TV series set in the Horizon universe that is currently in production. Furthermore, recent reporting has alluded to the existence of not only a multiplayer Horizon game but a remake of the original, which has greatly confused the gaming community. With Horizon Zero Dawn only 5 years old, many believe this to be an unnecessary allocation of PlayStation resources and even less justifiable than the recent The Last of Us Part 1 remake.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
