Despite having a rough start, this game promised fans new content for years to come. Keeping its promise, Hood: Outlaws & Legends provided players with a new character, new maps, and new game modes in the past year, with more to come. In addition to new content, the game implemented fixes and reworks to improve upon its lackluster areas.
With these countless alterations come differences in the gameplay of Hood: Outlaws & Legends, some negligible and others dramatic. These changes have made the game somewhat less complex but far more competitive. As such, players should acknowledge these beneficial pro-tips that will help them counteract difficulties and ultimately improve their chances of winning.
12 Cooperate With Your Team
Robin Hood did not take on great heists alone, as he depended largely on his Merry Men. The same holds for Hood: Outlaws & Legends. Players must work alongside their friends to overcome obstacles and fulfill their objectives. Teams that do not cooperate will make grievous errors that will result in their loss. To prevent this from happening, players must learn to work together throughout the match.
Cooperative teams will benefit significantly from their collaboration. Players that work together can designate characters, strategize, and focus their efforts. 10 Do Not Use Every Class
Hood: Outlaws & Legends provides players with five unique characters: the Ranger, the Hunter, the Brawler, the Mystic, and the Sellsword. Every character serves a particular role and playstyle, making variety a vital element of the game. While every character is a viable and enticing option, players would benefit from focusing on one or two rather than playing everyone.
Being open to playing any character seems helpful, but it prevents players from mastering any. Using two characters, at most, allows players to master them while having more than one option. In addition, every character levels up separately, making the use of multiple detrimental to progress. To access new perks, players must level up their classes, which requires a great deal of time and effort.

Stealth greatly benefits players regardless of their character or playstyle. While enemy players appear to be the greatest threat, NPCs provide the most challenge, especially once they are alerted. Guards are tasked with defending the treasure from players. They patrol the map searching for players, and once they discover them, other guards — and players — are alerted.
Being spotted results in a domino effect of mishaps that may cost players the game. Spotted players lose their ability to gauge progress and are tagged for others to see until they escape. Even when players manage to slip away, they without a doubt, waste time and resources to do so. Moreover, the enemy team will have an opportunity to plan an ambush. While the temptation of rushing into battle is compelling, players must exercise caution and remain hidden.
6 Move Separately But Stay Close
Stealth is a vital aspect of Hood: Outlaws & Legends as it prevents numerous complications. However, players often unknowingly diminish the effectiveness of stealth by traveling as a unit. Doing so seems to be the best strategy as Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a game of cooperation. As such, players will group and move together, unintentionally compromising themselves.
Instead, players should move separately but stay close to each other. This will allow players to maintain stealth while being in a position to aid their teammates. Moreover, players can set out to accomplish various things on their own, which proves more beneficial than focusing their collective effort on a single objective. For example, if an enemy gathers the attention of guards most players would use this time to further their progress. While this is a seemingly effective strategy, using this moment to attack would prove more beneficial. Even seemingly simple advantages, like capturing spawn points, can give players an edge over enemies. Regardless of how insignificant something may seem, if it can benefit players, then it is an advantage worth taking.
3 Use NPCs Against Opponents
NPCs have only one objective in mind, kill any player that attempts to infiltrate the vault. As such, guards will attack the players of both teams indiscriminately. This unspecific objective offers a unique opportunity for players to take advantage of NPCs. Despite being an effective strategy, it requires extensive experience with the guards and their pathing to execute it properly.
Players can use NPCs as a defense or obstacle against any enemy player they face. For instance, if an opponent is pursuing a player, they can carefully maneuver through hostile territory for protection. Additionally, players can lead the unstoppable Sheriff directly to enemy players, slowing their advances and potentially dispatching them. While it is dangerous, experienced players can turn the odds in their favor by using NPCs.
2 Learn The Layout Of Every Map
Hood: Outlaws & Legends features six maps for players to enjoy. Each map has different layouts and structures that offer various advantages and disadvantages to players. Learning the layout of each map and what it has to offer is vital when playing the game. It grants players knowledge of various shortcuts, strategies, and resources available to them.
Knowing a map's layout will allow players to plan for possible detriments or benefits they will have. Some maps may provide ample resources and room for movement while others do not. In addition, some characters may perform better or worse depending on the map. For example, the map Marshland - Newton Abbas is very open, providing Rangers with numerous sniping positions. Learning each map's layout will require a lot of time but the advantage it provides is worth it.
1 Be Conservative And Resourceful
Every character has unique abilities and gear that aid them in battle. However, these beneficial resources are not without limitations, as they cannot be used repeatedly. Abilities require time before they are available, and gear consists of consumable items found across the map. The limited quantity of these resources punishes players that use them too quickly or waste them.
While it may be tempting to use these resources immediately, it is best to conserve them for the best moment. Gear provides players with a way to escape or overcome unfavorable situations. In addition, abilities can grant powerful effects to players or inflict damage to enemies. It is important to note when players should use their gear and abilities lest they will be helpless without it.
