Announced during August's State of Play event, Hood: Outlaws and Legends looks to be an action-packed multiplayer experience that centers around the legendary folk tales of Robin Hood. The game pits two teams of rival thieves against each other in an effort to nab large sums of treasure, all the while having to contend with enemy AI that's attempting to stop them in their tracks.

Although little has been announced about the game in the wake of its reveal trailer, today the teams at Focus Home Interactive and Sumo Digital revealed more about Hood: Outlaws and Legends through a series of character trailers. These highlight The Ranger, The Hunter, The Brawler, and The Mystic classes, detailing whose shoes players will fill when they select each.

The first and most notable class is The Ranger, with players assume the role of the iconic Robin Hood. The trailer goes over the titular hero's legend, noting how he is seen as a beacon of hope by the townspeople due to his tireless fight against oppression to provide salvation to the poor. As expected, he wields a bow and has extensive military experience, so players can expect to utilize his unparalleled archery when playing as him in the game.

Next up is The Hunter, which appears to be Hood's take on Lady Marian. This time around, she's called Marianna and isn't the archetypal damsel in distress often depicted in most Robin Hood stories. The daughter of a Duke, Marianna fled from her home after her father was murdered, vowing revenge against the government that took his lifeNot much is revealed about her abilities, but she appears to wield a wrist-mounted crossbow.

Next up is The Mystic, which looks to be Hood's take on Friar Tuck. Simply called Tooke, the character is a priest gone rogue after his former mentor was killed for a crime he didn't commit. In the trailer, he's shown violently breaking free from the clutches of the government and escaping to the safety of the Green Wood. As for his abilities, he appears to wield a flail.

Finally there's Little John, traditionally Robin Hood's second in command and one of his most trusted friends. In Hood, John is a burly blacksmith renown for his strength, with the character coming to the aid of Robin Hood after hearing of his deeds. It seems he will be the game's heavy class, with the trailer showing him bare-knuckle boxing in an underground fighting ring and wielding a large hammer.

Hood: Outlaws and Legends will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
