Best Light Cone

Back to All Characters

Welt is a highly anticipated returning character from Honkai Impact 3rd, who has become a playable 5-star Imaginary character in Honkai: Star Rail. Being the only imaginary character and one of the few Nihility path characters at release, Welt has been popular among players.

Those fortunate enough to obtain him can gain a significant speed advantage in combat against tough bosses in Honkai: Star Rail, as he can reduce the enemies' speed with multiple debuffs while also serving as a potent sub-DPS. Therefore, players should consider building him with his DPS potential in mind, and fortunately, there are several excellent light cone options can enhance his kit's effectiveness. Considering that Welt's kit shares similarities in terms of debuff capabilities and DPS potential, while lacking an in-built DoT ability, it's no surprise that many of the best light cones for him are similar to those used for Pela. This can help players save on resources when players swap between these characters based on the content, unless both are utilized in the team composition.

Updated on November 4, 2023 by Elara Leclair: The introduction of various Nihility characters, along with associated light cones, offers players a wider array of choices for equipping their characters with more versatile options. While many of these new light cones are 5-star limited items, there are also some free-to-play options, such as Solitary Healing through Herta Store (albeit this one not entirely viable for Welt) available that enable players to build Welt and other characters with fewer resource investments.

8 Loop

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Loop
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 317
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 264
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 846
  • Effect: Increases DMG dealt from its wearer to Slowed enemies by 24%/30%/36%/42%/48%.

While Loop is only a 3-star light cone in terms of rarity, its effect makes it significantly valuable for Welt, especially for players who don't have access to higher rarity options. Welt's kit is designed to slow down enemies while dealing high damage, and Loop enhances his damage potential even further. Despite potentially having a lower ATK stat compared to 4 or 5-star light cones, the ease of maximizing Loop's superimposition compared to other gacha options can compensate for it, making it an excellent F2P choice, even though still obtained through gacha.

7 We Will Meet Again

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and We Will Meet Again
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 539
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 330
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 846
  • Effect: After the wearer uses Basic ATK or Skill, the wearer deals 40%/50%/60%/70%/80% of ATK as additional DMG to a random enemy that is attacked by abilities.

We Will Meet Again is a 4-star light cone that can only be obtained by purchasing Nameless Glory with real-life currency. Unlike other options that rely on gacha, it is not free-to-play friendly. However, for players interested in this light cone specifically for Welt's sub-DPS potential, it can be useful. That being said, there are better gacha options for Welt and better choices for other paths in Nameless Glory. Therefore, this light cone should only be preferred if no other options are available.

6 Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 476
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 330
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 952
  • Effect: When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already Ensnared, then there is a 60%/70%/80%/90%/100% base chance to Ensnare the hit enemy. Ensnared enemies’ DEF decreases by 12%/13%/14%/15%/16% for 1 turn(s).

"Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat" is a great option for players who prioritize increasing Welt's support potential over his DPS. It is an excellent light cone, especially for those who have not yet optimized Welt's relics to maximize his DPS. However, even players who have already done so can still benefit greatly from this light cone. The DEF decrease inflicted on enemies can significantly boost the overall damage output of the team, including Welt's own DPS. Since Welt can hit enemies with all of his abilities, the Ensnared effect can be applied relatively consistently, particularly if players have additional copies to superimpose this light cone. However, it is not necessarily required.

5 Good Night and Sleep Well

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Good Night and Sleep Well
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 476
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 330
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 952
  • Effect: For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%, stacking up to 3 time(s). This effect also applies to DoT.

Good Night and Sleep Well is another excellent option that can help increase Welt's DPS potential. The choice between this option and Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat ultimately depends on the player's preference on how to fully utilize Welt's capabilities. However, in tougher content such as the Forgotten Hall, where players must defeat enemies quickly, Good Night and Sleep Well may prove to be more valuable.

Overall, players who have built Welt to deal significant damage will benefit more from the damage boost provided by this light cone, especially when its compared after both light cones are superimposed to the maximum level. Alternatively, players can also consider combining both light cones by utilizing another character like Sampo or Pela to maximize the overall damage output even further.

4 Before the Tutorial Mission Starts

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 476
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 330
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 952
  • Effect: Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. When the wearer attacks enemies that have reduced DEF, regenerates 4/5/6/7/8 Energy.

The "Before the Tutorial Mission Starts" light cone is a limited event item that players had access to during the Starhunt's Game event, and they had the opportunity to max superimpose it for free. While it is more suitable for characters like Silver Wolf or Pela, particularly because they can reduce the enemies' DEF through their own kits, Welt can also benefit from this light cone.

This is especially true when paired with characters capable of decreasing the DEF of enemies in some way. Additionally, like many other characters, Welt can benefit from an increased Effect Hit Rate. This not only helps increase the chances of slowing down enemies with his Skill but is also especially useful when equipped with the Pan Galactic Commercial Enterprise planar ornament set to enhance his attack and, consequently, his DPS potential.

3 Patience Is All You Need

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Patience Is All You Need
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 582
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 463
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 1058
  • Effect: Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 24%/28%/32%/36%/40%. After every attack launched by wearer, their SPD increases by 4.8%/5.6%/6.4%/7.2%/8%, stacking up to 3 times. If the wearer hits an enemy target that is not afflicted by Erode, there is a 100% base chance to inflict Erode to the target. Enemies afflicted with Erode are also considered to be Shocked and will receive Lightning DoT at the start of each turn equal to 60%/70%/80%/90%/100% of the wearer's ATK, lasting for 1 turn(s).

Kafka's signature light cone, "Patience Is All You Need," is another option for those interested in increasing Welt's damage potential while also boosting his speed. While it's more suited for characters who specialize in DoT effects, as it provides an additional DoT on hit, it can still be beneficial for Welt. Particularly, since Welt can hit multiple targets with both his Skill and Ultimate, he can frequently apply the Erode effect to multiple enemies.

However, in team compositions that rely heavily on other characters using their skills, players may find that this isn't as applicable, as constantly using Welt's Skill might not be necessary to gain significant benefits from having him on the team.

2 Incessant Rain

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and Incessant Rain
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 582
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 463
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 1058
  • Effect: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 24%/28%/32%/36%/40%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy that currently has 3 or more debuffs, increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%/14%/16%/18%/20%. After the wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random target that does not yet have it and was hit by the ability. Targets with Aether Code receive 12%/14%/16%/18%/20% increased DMG for 1 turn.

Another excellent option for Welt is "Incessant Rain," which is typically Silver Wolf's signature limited light cone but can also work wonders for Welt. This light cone not only increases Welt's Effect Hit Rate but also boosts his Crit Rate when the enemy has at least three debuffs. Moreover, every turn, Welt can apply "Aether Code," which enables the entire party to deal more damage to a random enemy, enhancing Welt's support capabilities. As such, if players want to boost Welt's damage potential as well as the overall team's damage, "Incessant Rain" is a strong choice for him, especially because it provides similar benefits to his own signature light cone.

1 In the Name of the World

Honkai_ Star Rail – Welt and In the Name of the World
  • Base ATK (LVL 80): 582
  • Base DEF (LVL 80): 463
  • Base HP (LVL 80): 1058
  • Effect: Increases the wearer’s DMG to debuffed enemies by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. When the wearer uses their Skill, the Effect Hit Rate for this attack increases by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%, and ATK increases by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%.

"In the Name of the World" is Welt's signature 5-star light cone and, unsurprisingly, it is one of the best options for him. This light cone significantly boosts his DPS output by increasing his overall damage against debuffed enemies, which is almost always the case when Welt is in the team composition.

Additionally, his skill will deal more damage thanks to the ATK increase provided by this light cone. Another advantage of this light cone is that it enhances Welt's Effect Hit Rate, increasing his chance to Imprison enemies with his Imaginary element and further slowing down their speed. With this light cone, the team can gain a significant speed advantage in battle, providing not only a defensive aspect but also increasing the team's overall damage output per turn.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, PC and PlayStation.
