Asta, a Harmony path Fire unit in Honkai: Star Rail, possesses remarkable support abilities to assist teams in challenging situations. As a F2P character provided to players as they progress through the story, Asta can excel in various content. She shares some similarities with Bronya's kit, such as boosting the team's DMG output and speed.
Additionally, Asta has sub-DPS potential and a kit that is highly effective in Weakness Breaking the enemy's toughness in an AoE scale. Hence, players can choose from a wide range of light cones to build Asta according to their preferences in Honkai: Star Rail.
5 Meshing Cogs

- Effect: After the wearer uses attacks or gets hit, additionally regenerates 4/5/6/7/8 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.
For F2P players who have yet to acquire any 4-star or 5-star light cone options for Asta, Meshing Cogs proves to be an ideal choice. While it can be obtained through Gacha, it being a 3-star weapon makes it more accessible and simpler to enhance for additional team benefits. Asta heavily relies on her Ultimate for buffing capabilities, necessitating the rapid generation of energy. This is where Meshing Cogs comes in, providing assistance in quick energy generation and enhancing Asta's performance on the battlefield. With this light cone, F2P players can optimize Asta's support potential without relying on higher rarity options.

Memories of the Past is another great light cone that aids Asta in generating additional energy, enabling her to utilize her Ultimate frequently. Moreover, its secondary effect complements Asta's proficiency in weakness break through her Skill and Basic Attack. However, it generally lacks unconditional team-wide buffs compared to other 4-star light cone on the list, making those options more viable if players have access to them.
3 Planetary Rendezvous

- Effect: After entering battle, when all allies deal the same DMG Type as the wearer, DMG dealt increases by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%.
While this light cone may be more niche compared to other options, it stands as one of the best choices for teams that rely on Asta and predominantly feature Fire DPS characters or a mono Fire Element team. This is due to Asta's inherent support capabilities for Fire characters, as one of her passives increases Fire DMG for the team, making this light cone a perfect complement. As a result, players considering Himeko or Fire Trailblazer in their teams, for instance, can greatly benefit from including Asta and this light cone in their compositions.
2 Dance! Dance! Dance!

- Effect: When the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies’ actions are Advanced Forward by 16%/18%/20%/22%/24%.
Players can also obtain Dance! Dance! Dance!, a 4-star light cone, through Gacha. It can be especially useful in battles where the enemy has high speed and turn priority. If players can consistently activate Asta's Ultimate every 2 turns, this light cone can greatly benefit the team by advancing their actions alongside the speed buff from Asta's Ultimate.
1 But The Battle Isn't Over

- Effect: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 8%/10%/12%/14%/16% and regenerates 1 Skill Point when the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally. This effect can be triggered after every 2 uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action deals 30%/37.5%/45%/52.5%/60% more DMG for 1 turn(s).
But The Battle Isn't Over is Bronya's signature 5-star light cone, but it can also benefit Asta if players have access to this light cone but not Bronya herself. However, if players have both Bronya and this light cone, it is still better to equip it on Bronya and choose another light cone from the list to complement Asta's kit. This is because "The Battle Isn't Over" addresses some of Bronya's weaknesses, such as her heavy reliance on her Skill, and its secondary effect synergizes well with Bronya's abilities. For Asta, this light cone can still greatly help her utilize her Ultimate more frequently, but the secondary effect may not be as reliable unless players have effectively built the Speed values and turn priorities of their characters, ensuring that the primary DPS character can take action after Asta uses her skill.
