One talented Hollow Knight fan has shown off their impressive pumpkin carving skills with a homage to the game in the spirit of Halloween. This popular Metroidvania indie title is the perfect game to get gamers into the spooky spirit. Hollow Knight debuted in 2017, and in three short years, it sold 3 million copies. Developed and Published by Team Cherry, it was made on a small budget but generated a ton of money thanks to eager gamers who liked the more challenging nature of this specific title. The low price of $15 was also a plus for many fans.

For gamers who may not be familiar with the game, players take on the role of The Knight, a warrior who explores the kingdom of Hallownest, which has fallen victim to a horrible supernatural disease. Hollow Knight was inspired by many titles, such as Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Metroid, and Mega Man X. Recently, a much newer title, Elden Ring, was given the Hollow Knight treatment. Another talented gamer recreated Elden Ring bosses as Hollow Knight characters. The appreciation for this unique indie title remains quite strong years later, and fans are showing off their appreciation in various ways as of late.

Reddit user and Hollow Knight fan TrappedByDogma showed off their pumpkin creation for Halloween this year. The pumpkin features the main character of the game, The Knight, and is quite an intricate design to carve. Carving their favorite video game character on a pumpkin is no easy feat for many gaming fans, and TrappedByDogma admitted that they had had their fair share of mishaps regarding carving. This fan isn't the only one rolling up their sleeves to create more than just your average Jack-O-Lantern this year, though, as a Pokemon fan also created a Pikachu-themed creation for a contest.

When creating something as cool looking as a pumpkin with The Knight on it, the process may look simple, but it's not. Other fans were curious about how they could also get their design to look neat and professional. According to TrappedByDogma, they first drew the design with a pencil and then used kitchen knives to carve it. They recommend using gloves to avoid any injuries. Pumpkin designs this year are being taken to the next level. A Portal player recreated a Sentry Turret out of Pumpkins that looks like it came straight from the game; even Xbox approved of it.

Perhaps Hollow Knight's developers will see this latest creative homage to their game and take notice. For those Gamers who prefer not to get their hands messy, players can always check out other spooky video games to get into the spirit of the season. One thing is certain during Halloween: there is no lack of ways for gamers to show off their love for all things spooky and horror-filled.

Hollow Knight is available on PC, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
