Ever since Year 4, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players knew that they would one day be able to travel to Diagon Alley, as it was added as a locked option in their travel list. Well, Jam City has finally made Diagon Alley available for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players, though there is a catch fans should be made aware of.

First off, to unlock Diagon Alley in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players need to reach Year 5 Chapter 10. It's during this chapter that they're taught how to use Floo Powder by Madam Rakepick, allowing them to travel there through the fireplace in Dumbledore's office.

Upon arrival in Diagon Alley, players will immediately want to find a new free energy source, and as luck would have it, it's pretty easy to find. There is a coin bag in the middle of the street that players can tap to summon a Niffler as well as get the free energy bit. Players can explore some of the shops in Diagon Alley as well, plus take a trip to the evil version of the street, known as Knockturn Alley.

Now, as we said earlier, there is a catch to unlocking Diagon Alley in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. When players complete the story quests for Year 5 Chapter 10, they are no longer able to travel to Diagon Alley for some reason. It's possible that this is a glitch, though it's also possible that Diagon Alley won't become fully available until a little bit later on in the story. Alternatively, Jam City may want Diagon Alley to be an area that players are only able to travel to on specific occasions, though that seems unlikely.

So anyone who wants to keep traveling to Diagon Alley and take advantage of the extra free energy to help them complete their classes as well as the new Animagus side quest, we recommend holding off on completing all five story tasks for the latest chapter.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
