Hogwarts Legacy has released a list of voice actors that will be playing various characters in the game when it launches in February. Harry Potter fans have been waiting years to get their hands on Hogwarts Legacy, and the wait is nearly at an end. Come February, those on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X will finally have the chance to start their adventures in Hogwarts Legacy's take on the Wizarding World.

While Hogwarts Legacy is set in the same universe as Harry Potter, it takes place 100 years in the past, and so there shouldn't be much overlap when it comes to characters. Even so, there will be some characters in Hogwarts Legacy that fans recognize from the books and movies, though they will understandably be portrayed by other actors in the video game.

Avalanche has now started pulling back the curtain on the various people voicing characters in Hogwarts Legacy, with the headliner being none other than legendary British actor Simon Pegg, playing the role of Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the game. Black was long dead by the time Harry Potter starts attending school at Hogwarts, but he appears in the books and movies as a magical talking painting.

Hogwarts Legacy Voice Actor List

  • Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black - Simon Pegg
  • Playable Avatar - Sebastian Croft/Amelia Gething
  • Professor Matilda Weasley - Lesley Nicol
  • Professor Onai - Kandace Caine
  • Professor Satyavati Shah - Sohm Kapila
  • Everett Clopton - Luke Youngblood
  • Amit Thakkar - Asif Ali
  • Mahendra Pehlwaan - Adam O'Connor
  • Nearly Headless Nick - Jason Anthony
  • Sorting Hat - Jason Anthony

The playable Hogwarts student that serves as the main protagonist in Hogwarts Legacy will have two actors, Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething, depending on how players customize their character in the beginning of the game. Meanwhile, Lesley Nicol will play Professor Matilda Weasley, who serves as Deputy Headmistress to Black during the events of the Hogwarts Legacy video game.

Professor Onai will be played by Kandace Caine, Professor Satyavati Shah will be played by Sohm Kapila, Everett Clopton will be played by Luke Youngblood, Amit Thakkar will be played by Asif Ali, and Mahendra Pehlwaan will be played by Adam O'Connor. Jason Anthony, meanwhile, will have multiple roles in Hogwarts Legacy, portraying Gryffindor House ghost Nearly Headless Nick as well as the Sorting Hat.

This is not a comprehensive list of all the Hogwarts Legacy characters and the actors that will be playing them in the game as that information is not yet available, but it does give fans a pretty good idea of what to expect from the voice cast. Fans will have to play Hogwarts Legacy for themselves next month to see what happens with all these characters over the course of the open world action-RPG's story.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions dropping April 4, and a Switch release coming July 25.
