Although bugs and glitches affected players on launch day, Hogwarts Legacy garnered positive reception from Metacritic users and Steam players alike. Additionally, Avalanche Software would push several updates to fix the game's most glaring issues in recent months. Hogwarts Legacy's most recent update introduces a slew of bug fixes while introducing an accessibility feature that allows even more players to dive into the game.RELATED: Big Hogwarts Legacy Update Could Finally Fix Annoying PS5 BugAvalanche Software released a major update for Hogwarts Legacy featuring the long awaited Arachnophobia Mode, which may be toggled on and off at any time. Hogwarts Legacy players may turn on Arachnophobia Mode by visiting the in-game accessibility options menu. Once the accessibility feature is turned on, all enemy spider appearances are changed to resemble a beetle-like creature with roller skates. Further, spider sounds are reduced and removed across the entire game, and small spider ground effect spawners have been removed entirely. Patch notes for the recent Hogwarts Legacy update reveals that Arachnophobia Mode makes static spider corpses invisible as well.

The developers note that spider images found within Hogwarts Legacy's Field Guide are unchanged when Arachnophobia Mode is toggled on. Moreover, collision is still active with invisible static spider corpses. The game's collision acts as a safeguard to prevent Hogwarts Legacy players from glitching and getting stuck in certain areas.

Arachnophobia Mode is a welcomed addition to Hogwarts Legacy on all platforms since it allows more players to enjoy the game without extreme discomfort or fear in the game's most perilous sections. PC gamers no longer need to install the Arachnophobia Mode mod for Hogwarts Legacy, and console players may also benefit from the feature on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

After installing the latest update, players will be able to redeem free Hogwarts Legacy cosmetic DLC starting this week. For a limited time, Hogwarts Legacy players may earn this new DLC by watching Twitch streamers play the game. Twitch drops must be enabled by the streamer in order for viewers to receive the DLC, however.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. PS4 and Xbox One versions launch on May 5, and the Nintendo Switch version launches on July 25.
