The planetary success of Hogwarts Legacy continues with yet another impressive performance in the United Kingdom, where the new Harry Potter game led physical game sales for a third straight week, according to new estimates. This latest bit of insight into the commercial performance of Avalanche Software's hit RPG dovetails with over half a dozen previous reports claiming Hogwarts Legacy has been dominating sales charts all over the world.

The home country of Harry Potter already demonstrated its love for the Wizarding World in the game's debut week, when Hogwarts Legacy broke a 22-year-old sales record and demolished first-week physical sales of heavy hitters such as Elden Ring. The open-world ARPG already became the most-viewed single-player title in Twitch history, as well as WB Games' biggest Steam launch to date; recent estimates suggest Valve's platform generated well over $200 million in revenue for the publisher in the game's first ten days on the market.

Since then, Hogwarts Legacy managed to maintain its massive momentum in the UK, where it topped physical sales for the third week in a row, GamesIndustry.biz reports, citing GfK data. The achievement is even more impressive in light of the fact that the new Harry Potter game has been going against four new top ten-worthy releases this time around, with the most high-profile title from that lot being Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe, which debuted at number three. The rest of the debutant contenders were Octopath Traveler 2, Atomic Heart, and Like A Dragon: Ishin, which ranked sixth through eighth—in that order—during the observed period.

FIFA 23 squeezed in between Hogwarts Legacy and the new Kirby game on the latest UK physical game sales chart, while its top five was concluded by God of War Ragnarok and the evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Apart from the aforementioned debutant trio, the bottom half of the weekly list was completed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Minecraft: Switch Edition, which placed ninth and tenth, respectively.

WB Games likely places great stock in the home country of Harry Potter, given how numerous industry watchers estimate that the UK is the sixth-largest video game market on the planet, boasting nearly 40 million players with $5.5 billion in combined annual spending habits. Furthermore, recent estimates suggest Hogwarts Legacy topped the physical sales charts in Japan and South Korea, which dwarf the UK in total gamer spending by a factor of five, during its launch week.

The new Harry Potter RPG has also been doing great in other parts of the world. According to previous reports, Hogwarts Legacy debuted at the top of Oceania sales charts, in addition to dominating physical game sales in Taiwan, among other markets.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4, and a Switch port dropping July 25.
