Hogwarts Legacy has revealed the identity of its Potions professor to the world. Hogwarts Legacy is the upcoming Harry Potter action-RPG that lets players live out their Wizarding World fantasies. Players will get the chance to create their own witch or wizard and attend school at Hogwarts, and that includes going to the various classes from the Harry Potter books and films.

Hogwarts Legacy features a wide range of classes for players to attend over the course of the game. Recently, the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account has been highlighting these classes by revealing the backstory of the Professors teaching them. So far, Hogwarts Legacy has pulled the curtain back on the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, the Herbology professor, and Charms professor, with the Potions professor the latest to be unveiled.

The Potions professor in Hogwarts Legacy is a Slytherin named Aesoph Sharp. According to Sharp's bio, he previously worked as an Auror at the Ministry of Magic, but was injured and forced to retire. Sharp specializes in "battle-worthy draughts and elixirs," so it seems that the potions players use to brew from taking his class will be helpful for Hogwarts Legacy combat encounters. Like with the other professors, it remains to be seen if Sharp will have any larger role to play in the game's story beyond serving as the Potions professor.

In the Harry Potter books and films, the professors of Harry's classes were often integral to the plot in one way or another, typically the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. For most of the franchise's run, Potions class was taught by Severus Snape, who is easily one of the most recognizable and important characters in the entire series. It seems highly unlikely Sharp will be able to live up to Snape's legacy, but it will definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Snape was known in the Harry Potter books to be biased toward Slytherin students, since that was his Hogwarts House when he went to school, and he even served as their Head of House. It remains to be seen if Sharp displays similar characteristics. It's already been established that different Hogwarts Houses in Hogwarts Legacy can lead to players getting different companions, but maybe the choice will also impact how professors treat students as well.

More information on the game will come to light in the weeks ahead, but with the Hogwarts Legacy release date right around the corner, some information will undoubtedly have to wait for players to play the game themselves.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version also in development.
