Hogwarts Legacy will have a PlayStation exclusive quest called The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop that looks like a horror game. Hogwarts Legacy has been tied to the PlayStation brand since the game was first revealed at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2020, and so it's been featured at PlayStation events ever since.

Sony hosted a lengthy Hogwarts Legacy State of Play earlier this year that gave fans a deep dive into what to expect from the game. It showed extensive gameplay, revealed story details, and let fans know exactly what kind of action-RPG Avalanche Software is building. Harry Potter fans across all platforms will be able to enjoy most of what Hogwarts Legacy has to offer, but those on PlayStation will have the chance to try an exclusive quest.

Hogwarts Legacy was featured at the PlayStation State of Play for September 2022, where its PlayStation-exclusive quest was revealed to the world. Those playing Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 or PS5 will be treated to the Haunted Hogsmeade quest, which includes access to an extra dungeon, the Shopkeeper's cosmetic set, and access to a special Hogsmeade shop that will be unavailable in other versions of the game. Perhaps most interestingly, the Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation exclusive quest has a distinct horror vibe to it.

In the trailer, the Hogwarts student is visiting a shop in Hogsmeade, a town close to Hogwarts Castle that older students visit in their off-time. While there, they discover a ladder leading down to some kind of hidden area that is populated by what appears to be living, hostile mannequins. What happens next genuinely looks like it belongs in a horror game, with trippy visuals, doors opening by themselves, and spiders crawling around.

The Hogwarts student in the trailer is at least able to fight back with some spells, though players will have to get their hands on the game for themselves to see the conclusion to the quest. Only those on PS4 and PS5 will get to experience this Hogwarts Legacy quest, which will likely disappoint Harry Potter fans that plan on picking it up for Switch or Xbox.

Xbox owners will miss out on playing this PlayStation-exclusive quest in Hogwarts Legacy, but at least they will get to play the game on the same day as their PS4 and PS5 counterparts. Those on Switch still have no idea when their version of Hogwarts Legacy will be available, as the Switch port has been delayed indefinitely. More information on the Hogwarts Legacy Switch port's release date was promised to come "soon," but fans are still waiting to learn more.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version also in development.
