Hogwarts Legacy is looking to be the definitive Harry Potter gaming experience, allowing fans of the Wizarding World to live out their fantasies at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From what's been shown so far, it appears as though Hogwarts Legacy is going to let players live out a genuine Hogwarts experience, choosing their preferred House, going to classes, learning spells, and more. However, one popular game mode will be missing from the experience.

While it had been assumed for some time, it's now been outright confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will not have Quidditch. Quidditch, for the uninitiated, is a Wizarding World sport played on broomsticks. Quidditch has played a key role in Harry Potter books, films, and video games, and so it's exclusion from Hogwarts Legacy comes as a surprise. At the time of this writing, no reason has been given as to why Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy.

Harry Potter fans may be disappointed to learn that they won't be able to play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy, but on the bright side, they will still be able to fly brooms. It was confirmed long ago that Hogwarts Legacy lets players fly on brooms, and they will be able to do so for traversal as well as for completing broom race challenges. Brooms can help Hogwarts Legacy players better explore Hogwarts Castle, and they should prove to be quite helpful, even if they can't be used to play Quidditch.
