Fans have been waitintg to get another substantial look at the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game for some time now, and if a recent rumor is to be believed, the wait could soon be over. In fact, it's possible that fans will finally get another look at Hogwarts Legacy as early as next week thanks to the new PlayStation State of Play event, which will be focused on third-party games in development for PS4 and PS5 consoles.
At the beginning of October, reputable leaker Millie A responded to someone asking when they might get to see Hogwarts Legacy again. At the time, Millie A said that they would get to see the game either this month or at The Game Awards. Since Sony announced its next State of Play event, Millie A has offered a follow-up to her original tweet, saying, "When I said this, I so badly wanted to say State of Play, but couldn’t." This is clearly a hint that Hogwarts Legacy could very well be featured at the State of Play event, though nothing has been confirmed and so fans should take this information with a big grain of salt for now.
Harry Potter fans that want to tune in to the next PlayStation State of Play event just in case the rumors are true and Hogwarts Legacy does make an appearance should note that it will take place on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00pm PT. As usual, the State of Play will air on the Sony's YouTube and Twitch channels. The only other detail that we have is that it will feature roughly 20 minutes of game announcements and, as previously mentioned, will focus on third-party PlayStation games.
Sony's decision to make the next State of Play event focus on third-party games was met with a somewhat mixed reaction from the community, as fans are anxious to see games like God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West again. However, a heavy hitter like Hogwarts Legacy would ensure that the next State of Play is still plenty exciting for any PlayStation gamers that tune in.
Hogwarts Legacy isn't the only big third-party game rumored for next week's State of Play event. Rumor has it that Final Fantasy 16 will be at the State of Play as well. Final Fantasy 16 is in a similart spot as Hogwarts Legacy in that they were both two of the earliest games revealed for PS5, yet neither one have had a substantial update since their initial reveals. If both games are featured at the next State of Play, the event will be a hit for sure, but it's better if fans keep their expectations in check.
