A Hogwarts Legacy fan has released a mod that allows gamers to play as fan-favorite character Cedric Diggory. The protagonist of the game has already been the subject of plenty of mods, with another Hogwarts Legacy mod allowing players to play as Voldemort.

Modders are still discovering what is possible in the latest Wizarding World title. Many of the mods so far have embraced the funny side of modding, with one Hogwarts Legacy mod adding a Shrek broom for players to fly around Hogwarts on. These types of mods won't be for everyone, and hopefully as modders get more familiar with the game, some more serious mods begin to emerge with brand-new content for players to explore.

The mod was released onto Nexus Mods by modder AreKCrisiS, and allows gamers to play as one of two versions of the character. The first is Cedric Diggory as he appears in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the second is an adult version that resembles an older Robert Pattinson. The modder has done a brilliant job, with the resemblance to Pattinson striking in both appearances. Due to the popularity of the character, Cedric Diggory has already been the focus of a few mods for the game. One morbid Hogwarts Legacy mod even added a Cedric Diggory "broom" which was just a skeleton for players to fly around on.

With Hogwarts Legacy being set in the late 1800s, this mod is certainly not lore-friendly. The mod also doesn't use Robert Pattinson's voice and is entirely a visual mod. While for some players this could prove to be a dealbreaker for the mod, many will just be happy to be able to play as Cedric Diggory for the first time. In the mod's comments, the user claims to be working on adding both Tom Riddle and Hermione Granger's faces to the game, so there's plenty more to come for classic Harry Potter fans.

The early signs for the Hogwarts Legacy modding scene are strong. The game boasts millions of players, so the demand for mods is extremely high even at this early stage. On the official side of things, developer Avalanche Software is yet to reveal its plans for the future of the game. The official line remains that no DLC is planned for Hogwarts Legacy, although its continued financial success means that this could change at any time. It's likely that any news about the future of the game will come in the next few months while the game remains massively in the public eye.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
