Hogwarts Legacy fans have been waiting to get another look at the game for quite some time, and so whenever a big gaming event comes around, they hold out hope that it will make an appearance. PlayStation State of Play events, The Game Awards, and more have come and gone with no Hogwarts Legacy in sight, but if recent rumors are to be believed, the game could very well be shown off again sooner rather than later.

Leaker AccountNGT, who has accurately leaked news in the past regarding Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream, has said that Hogwarts Legacy fans can expect a new trailer to drop in February or March at a PlayStation event. According to the leaker, the new Hogwarts Legacy trailer will be focused on the different skills and abilities that players will have access to in the game, which hopefully means that it will be a proper gameplay trailer. AccountNGT has also said that fans can expect the Hogwarts Legacy release date to be at some point in September.

Sony just confirmed that the first PlayStation State of Play of 2022 will take place on February 2, though it will reportedly focus on Gran Turismo 7. It's possible that other games will be given a spotlight as well, though fans should keep their expectations in check. It's entirely possible that Sony will host a separate State of Play event in March that covers more games and that the Gran Turismo 7 State of Play will focus exclusively on the upcoming PlayStation racing game.

Now, fans should always take leaks like this with a massive grain of salt. AccountNGT has accurately leaked news in the past, but they've also been wrong about things as well. In fact, AccountNGT's Twitter was recently deleted after a situation where they were accused of backpedaling on one of their claims. AccountNGT's own tweets are now deleted, but the gist of it seems to be that they denied ever claiming that Sony was preparing to make a big company acquisition, only to be confronted with screenshots proving otherwise.

While this situation certainly casts some doubt on AccountNGT's legitimacy, there's no denying that they have accurately leaked some industry news in the past. As previously mentioned, the best thing for fans to do is to take the information with a grain of salt and just wait for an official Hogwarts Legacy trailer or other announcement before getting too excited about the possibility of the game releasing in September.

Hogwarts Legacy is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
