Hogwarts Legacy is known for its impressive immersion plunging players head first into a Pensieve of nostalgia. However, for players who are looking for a challenge, even the game's toughest difficulty isn't that hard, with the toughest boss fights requiring more patience than skill.

Nevertheless, like most games, Hogwarts Legacy features some super-hard achievements that can be particularly tricky to unlock, especially for players going in blind. These achievements will test the magical abilities of players, their determination, and sometimes their ingenuity.

7 Spilled Milk - Use Flipendo Ten Times To Tip One Cow Or Several

Hogwarts Legacy Spilled Milk Achievement Cow

Spilled Milk is by far the most hilarious achievement in Hogwarts Legacy and while it isn't that hard for players who know about it, the sheer absurdity of it means that few players would unlock it playing blind.

Once players have learned Flipendo from Professor Garlick, they will be able to head out into the Highlands to find a cow and flip it ten times, thus spilling the milk. As funny as this may be, players should probably avoid doing this in front of Poppy Sweeting as she might not feel the same way.

There are a number of ways to gain experience points and level up fast in Hogwarts Legacy, including completing quests, defeating enemies in the area surrounding Hogwarts, and collecting Field Guide Pages. One of the fastest ways to level up is to complete Battle Arenas, but these can be quite difficult.

5 Finishing Touches - Use Ancient Magic On Every Enemy In The Game

The main character in Hogwarts Legacy possesses a rare form of magic known as Ancient Magic, and it is this power which drives the story forward. This magic can be used in incredible-looking Ancient Magic Finishers as well as the ability to throw objects such as rocks.

To get the Finishing Touches achievement, players must use this power on all the different enemy types, but thankfully it does not have to deal the killing blow. As there is no way to track the progress of this achievement, players will have to just consistently use Ancient Magic throughout the game.

Players trying to complete this achievement will find it useful to go to the map and scan it for any quests they might have missed. By hovering over Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, all the available quests in those two places will also appear.

3 The Nature Of The Beast - Breed Every Type Of Beast

Hogwarts Legacy is full of cute magical creatures and by capturing critters and building a Breeding Pen in any of their vivariums, players can breed most of these beasts. The even cuter offspring are a reward in themselves, but by breeding the 12 types of beasts, players will also unlock The Nature of the Beast achievement.

There are many elements that make this a hard achievement as players must first locate the places in the game where all these creatures can be found, before actually capturing them with the Nab-sack. For the more elusive creatures and especially on harder difficulties, this is no easy task.

2 Merlin's Beard! - Complete All Merlin Trials

Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trial Complete

There are 95 Merlin Trials to be found throughout Hogwarts Legacy, and while locating them all is a challenge of its own, players who complete them all will gain the Merlin's Beard achievement. There are many different types of trials and players will need to use a wide variety of spells to solve them, but the hardest thing about this achievement is the sheer number of them.

Completing Merlin Trials is also one of the Exploration Challenges in Hogwarts Legacy, meaning that players will also be rewarded with extra gear slots. Having extra room in the inventory means that players won't have to visit vendors as often to sell their gear.

1 Collector's Edition - Complete All Collections

Hogwarts Legacy Vivarium Conjurations

The Hardest achievement in Hogwarts Legacy is Collector's Edition which only the most dedicated players have unlocked so far. There are 10 categories of collections and players must complete every single one. These are Potions, Enemies, Appearances, Revelio Pages, Beasts, Traits, Wand Handles, Conjurations, Ingredients, and Brooms.

Some of these, which only need a handful like Potions and Ingredients, are easy enough and will be collected over the course of the game naturally, but finding all 140 Conjuration items in Hogwarts Legacy is no small feat.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming May 5 and a Switch release dropping July 25.
