A Hogwarts Legacy player has recently discovered a couple of redhead twins looking for trouble while exploring Hogsmeade. Finding lookalikes of Fred and George Weasley is only one of the many Easter eggs that Harry Potter fans are finding every day in Hogwarts Legacy, but perhaps one of the most recognizable ones for movie fans.
Not only has Hogwarts Legacy recreated Hogwarts Castle to perfection, creating its most detailed, interesting version to date outside of the big screen, but also expanded its scope to its surrounding areas. By finally doing Hosmead justice, Avalanche Software gave players a magical village full of surprises. In it, players can visit famous shops, acquire new gear, meet a few people, interact with magic objects, and even find some Easter eggs if they pay attention and search hard enough.
Hogwarts Legacy gamer Zangetsuee shared their most recent discovery: it’s possible to meet twins who strike a strong resemblance to Fred and George Weasley in Hogwarts Legacy while walking around Hogsmeade. While the famous twins from the Harry Potter saga were not born yet in the 1800s, when the game’s story happens, it’s a clear Easter egg. In the picture shared by Zangetsuee, both are found with their iconic ginger hair while looking through the windows of the famous Zonko’s Joke Shop. In Harry Potter books and movies, the twins often visit the store to get supplies they can use to prank their friends.
Some other people on the Reddit post commented that this is not the redhead twins' only appearance in Hogwarts Legacy. If players keep exploring Hogsmeade and then hang around Zonko’s magic shop for a while, there’s a pretty good chance that they will see both twins being expelled by the owner. It's a fairly short voice-acted scene but gives some insight into why they may be looking at Zonko's from the outside in the other scene.
While these small details delight players who spend their time exploring Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding areas, there are a few aspects in which Hogwarts Legacy has been heavily criticized lately. A few days ago, a Hogwarts Legacy couple spent hours trying to open a locked chest in the Slytherin common room, only to be very disappointed by its contents. The loot system in the game is far from as detailed as some of its locations, and treasures are generated randomly. This may be a huge letdown for a few players who are expecting unique loot and cool magic gear from treasure boxes that appear in particularly interesting locations.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Switch release dropping July 25.
